3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
7th June 2015
Clear gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is fairly dry with decent fine carbonation. Dry grain in the pale malts. Mild floralness, Mild bitterness and citrus. Finishes semi dry and crisp. Comes over slightly lager like but itís pretty drinkable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
0.5l bottle. Light amber color with quickly disappearing white head. Peated malt, caramel, and, I would say, classic English hops. Taste is medium bitter. Dry finish and watery palate. In my opinion itís nice beer, not the usual IPA that everybody expect, but itís quite balanced and easy drinkable ale.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Ambar algo rojiza.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This bottle was at the front of the shelf and covered in dust. Iím guessing it was overexposed to light, as I taste mostly skunk, with a caramel malt background. I remember this being better. Alas, at 5í7 I was unable to reach a farther back bottle for a better taste. Oh well.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a color like a normal Pilsner. Nice soft texture and decent hoppy taste. Nothing out of the ordinary from most IPAís.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Locks like a normal pale lager. Clear, gold and foamy. The smell is very earthy from the (Czech like) hop side. The taste is not that different from a Czech lager, but with a little less body. The malty earthy hoppy side misses a little fresh bitterness (i.e. a nearly complete lack of bitterness). Not a bad beer, but the deScription IPA will probably disappoint you a bit.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
At Tolkienís House. Thanks Filip! Poured a clear, full golden body with a creamy head. Buttery, malty aroma, vague veggies. What the hell? Nope, no hops there. Bitter, sweaty herbal hoppy taste. Some alcohol?! Relatively strong bitterness without proper aromatics to counter. If I were to judge First Gold from this beer, Iíd have a low, low opinion about them. Seems to have that St. Peterís house flavor going on that I canít quite describe. Disappointing for an IPA, disappointing for an English IPA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled. Clear copper colour with a minimal off-white head. Good aroma of caramel, apple, English hops, and a touch of malt. Flavours of toffee and caramel. Smooth and warm in the mouth, with a drier, slightly smokey finish. A very good (English style) IPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 ml bottle. Amber orange with a creamy beige head. Soft butterscotch malt nose. Flavor upfront is more of the same with a touch of bitter hops. Some nuttiness and grassy hops in mid taste. Creamy mouthfeel with a medium body. Nice balance and flavor. Very drinkable and characteristic of English IPAís. Somewhat tame compared to American IPAís, however. Still, a nice brew.
