COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular. Also available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles.
Hops: Challenger and Goldings.
This fine beer is a blend of a mature old ale with a younger light beer - just as a true Porter should be. The marriage produces an extremely characterful brew which is dark in colour and complex in taste.

Bottle 0.5L. Dark brown body with an average, frothy, tan head, mainly diminishing but with some lacing. Intense malty (roasted malt and caramel) aroma with some notes of licorice and maybe coffee. Moderate bitter flavour (dominated by the roasted character) with some sweet note of caramel; bitter finish. Dry body with an oily texture; soft carbonation.

Pours a nice brown beer with a not very long lasting head. Smells smokey and coffee. Nice! Pretty nice taste. Coffee and a nice bitter finish. It has a thin body and a watery and sticky texture. I like this one.

0,5l bottle. Dark brown color. Aroma chocolate and coffee. Taste is chocolate, coffee and toasted malt. It has medium bitterness. It’s good beer, but nothing more than that.

Pours a clear dark reddish brown with a frothy cream colored head that slowly dissipates to lots of sticky lace. The aroma is a bit vinous with some dark fruity aromas. Burnt sugars, light chocolate and coffee playing supporting roles. The flavor is a touch lactic with vinous and dark pitted fruits melding into toffee, caramel, and a hint of smoke. Medium to thin body with a light level of carbonation and a sweet burnt mouthfeel. Interesting beer. This is not really what I think of when I think porter, but it was good enough to keep me interested through the glass.

500ml bottle at Franciscan Well. Pours a clear ruby brown with a thin but lasting off-white bubbly head, with little lacing. Aroma is a mix of coffee, tobacco, chocolate and toffee that falls more on the sweet than smoky side. Medium chocolatey sweetness, with a light coffee bitterness and a slight hint of roast and smoke. Full-bodied with a smooth but ever so slightly prickly mouthfeel, and a sweet finish. I prefer my porters on the more bitter side of things than this, but this is still quite a good beer. Would happily drink again at a fiver a bottle!

I love porter beers, but not much for this one, ..... less coffee taste and smell. It turns sour as chill released

It pours a brown-red-ish with a persistent white brown head. Quite thin and soft, very drinkable. Taste with notes of caramel, coffee and a bitter and dry end. And the bottle is so great.

St. Peter’s Old Style Porter has a thick, beige, spongy head, thin lacing left behind, and a clear, reddish-brown appearance. The aroma is of medium-roasted, sweet, tannic barley malt, and the flavor is of the same, with some chocolate notes and an underlying and pleasant bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium, slick, and smooth, and St. Peters’s Old Style Porter finishes semi-dry, refreshing, and highly drinkable. Overall, this is excellent. RJT

The usual porter black looks. Has smokiness to it with some deep roasted red fruits and a slighly bitter coffee finish. Nice porter which grows in flavor while you drink it. Had it from tap. Nice porter.
