Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles.
This fine beer is a blend of a mature old ale with a younger light beer - just as a true Porter should be. The marriage produces an extremely characterful brew which is dark in colour and complex in taste.

Smooth and relatively light for a porter. The flavor is a nice combination of malts and hops, with a faint but pert spicy kick. Classy drink.

bottle thanks to metzlers in denton, tx. this is an amazing looking beer. poured a brown with a red tint and a beige/tan head that would not go away. excellent lacing. the aroma had some dark roast, fruits, and caramel. this one feels good on the palate also. dont let the plain bottle fool you the quality is on the inside.

This is quality stuff. I’m Irish, so you know I have mixed feelings about the English... This stuff does cost a pretty penny, yet it is just as good as Newcastle, if not better. I love drinking this beer at room temperature.

I like this but not as much as the stout. Dark dark brown, with a light tan head. coffee on the nose and tongue. A tad thin in the mouth but certainly a pretty good brew.

this is a smooth, easy-drinking porter. low potency. a nice introductory taste for people who have yet to explore the wide world of craft brewing. poured very dark brown, not entirely opaque, with a beautiful off-white head. lively carbonation. light coffee and dark rye toast in the aroma. taste is filled with roastiness, nuttiness, and sweetness. also caramel and a tangy dried fruit taste in the background. a mild grassy hops tingle creeps up mid-way through the bottle. mouthfeel is thin and watery -- the weakest part of this brew. overall a good porter, well worth a try, but it probably won’t knock your socks off.

Bottle, 500 ml. Very dark ruby with a large tan head. Roasted malt flavor with dark fruit notes. The sweet malt is nicely balanced by bittering hops on the palate. Dry finish.

A very solid beer. Pours a deep brown color with ruby highlites, bears a medium head with amazing durability and lacing. I can’t help that think, though I have had many good porters; this one is what a porter should taste like. Smells of malts and caramels. Tastes of dark malts and caramel, as well as light underlying hoppy tones. Delightful. Great mouthfeel, very thick on the palate. I would love to have this for a session drink.
