UnsofistaCat (222), Garden City, Michigan, USA Dec 31, 2007 Ok porter. Nice looking head but over all the mouithfeel was a tad bit seltzer like. Little bit of roasted malt, and a little sour. zeke626 (302), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Dec 29, 2007 Bottle. Pours a deep brown body with reddish hues and a bubbly, light brown head. Aroma is primarily caramel/cocoa malts. Smooth, creamy body with slight chocolate flavors, a little fizzy abd effervescent on the palate. Body and mouthfeel seem a bit on the light side. The finish is a bit sour with a coffee aftertaste. UselessGdTaste (363), Long Beach, California, USA Dec 28, 2007 Overall, very surprising. Rather effervescent for a porter. The smell suggested it would be very heavy, however the palate was very light and the beer was not overpowering at all. I was impressed at this differential. berkshirejohn (1771), Bracknell, Berkshire, England Dec 26, 2007 500ml bottle from Majestic. Deep chestnut brown; rich caramel malt aroma; smooth smokey roasted malt flavour; dry coffee finish. Rather one-dimensional. Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England Dec 26, 2007 500ml bottle. Mid-brown with little head. Caramel aroma. Good flavour of smoky roasted malt but a poor finish and the mouthfeel is a little lacking. Certainly different from the darker porters that dominate the top of the rankings and worth checking out for that reason, but it won’t become a regular tipple for me. jhagmar (114), Gothenburg, Sweden Dec 25, 2007 50 cl bottle at BIshop’s Arms, Avenyn, Gothenburg, Sweden. Dark brown with a hint of red. Small, light brown head. Aroma is dominated by roasted malt and yeast. Initially sweet with a short, mildly bitter finish. Somewhat dry on the palate. ekstedt (2411), Göteborg, Sweden Dec 21, 2007 Updated: Dec 22, 2007Bottle (50 cl) at Bishops Arms, Avenyn, Göteborg, Sweden. Dark reddish brown with a medium beige head. Quite boring and one-dimensional roasted malt aroma, ok mouthfeel with a dry and slightly salty finish. corby112 (679), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 16, 2007 pours dark brown almost black with thin beige head.
