Fratto (670), Arlington, Texas, USA Sep 14, 2009 Light bodied, but with a nice dark pour. Some malts and fruits in the aroma with a roasted flavor. sound67 (157), Offenbach, Germany Sep 3, 2009 Bottle as shown. Aroma is coffee, fig and chocolate. Taste is surprisingly bitter (yet fruity), with dark chocolate and tobacco notes, no hops. I did not expect to like this, but due to the bitter, not-toffee-ish, not-biscuitish finish this one is actually drinking quite nicely. More of a winter beer, of course. BOLTZ7555 (1053), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 15, 2009 Aroma almost nonexistent and what was their was fairly nondescript. Dark roasted malt and nothing else, really. Crystal clear chestnut pour with a little bit of reddish highlights and a creamy eggshell head that left clumps of lacing. Flavor is a little coffee, a little chocolate, and a lot of malt. Medium mouthfeel if not somewhat prickly/fizzy. Meh. zebracakes (1214), Washington DC, USA Aug 7, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark opaque brown, off white head. Aroma is caramel chewy, port, raisins. Flavor is caramel and port, roasted nuts, anise, pine. Thinner body than I expected but that just makes it easier to drink. djd07 (721), Houston, Texas, USA Aug 4, 2009 Bottle as shown. Pours a dark amber with a medium creamy light tan head that lasts awhile leaving behind good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a sweet roasted malt with chocholate and fruit. Thin mouthfeel with a roasted malt flavor with a nice bitter finish. A good porter from St Peters. CptGreencoat (68), Kettering, Ohio, USA Jul 30, 2009 Pours to fairly opaque reddish-brown with a thin, off-white head. Nose is roasted malts and fig. I was surprised with the complexity of this one. Flavor profile includes caramel, toffee, chocolate, and finishes with a slightly bitter roasted coffee note. Maybe a little thin on the palate, with a non-hop bitter aftertaste from the roasted malts. St. Peter’s has never impressed me, but this is a very drinkable, but highly complex beer that I will certainly be buying again. ChristianScheffel (4431), Odense, Denmark Jul 26, 2009 Dark brown with a lasting off-white head. Roasted toffee and chocolate aroma. Roast malt and chocolate flavour Hansen (2235), Randers, Denmark Jul 21, 2009 Standard british porter. Black and clear. Has a low, offwhite head, mostly diminishing. Aroma is burnt, roasted. Flavor has a bitter finish. Watery texture. Dry. Laqurice.
