ChrisThomson (380), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 14, 2007 Luzern, 06. Pours dark brown, with light brown head. Has nice roasty coffee taste with medium body. thefederalist (226), Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA Oct 8, 2007 Pours very dark red, smallish head. Robust chocolate aroma...reminds me of Young’s DCS. Flavor is pretty nice, some chocolate and caramel flavors. Mouthfeel is dissapointingly thin - almost watery. Crank up the body and this could be very nice, but as it is - a fine beer nonetheless. Joel (7), USA does not count Oct 7, 2007 Dark brown in color with a large tan head. Hints of chocolate and caramel. Not overly complex and surprisingly light and thin, but overall an excellent, easy-drinking porter.
krysztofar (344), belleville, Illinois, USA Oct 3, 2007 16.9 medium brown color with a thin off-white head. aroma of chocolate brownies and cassis. light presence of roasted malt. medium to thin body is too thin for mt taste. moderate bitterness and a pinch of tart cherry sourness. not bad or great. BelgianBeerGal (1276), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Oct 1, 2007 Unique 50cL bottle. Pours a clear dark brown, almost opaque. The aroma reminded me of incense? Flavor starts with nice roasted coffee and then finishes with a good burnt bitterness. Enjoyable porter. robforbes (1083), Bremerton, Washington, USA Sep 21, 2007 from red apple in bremerton which has been really bringing in different beers as of late.
pour is dark brown with a tad bit of ruby to it, it has a frothy tan head.
smell - bitter-sweet chocolate, roasted almonds and a hint of coffee.
taste - light at first, sweet cocoa, then more bitter and thick on the tongue, goes more bitter as you taste, strong coffee and bitters in the end.
nice porter overall. redlight (1445), Winter Park, Florida, USA Sep 20, 2007 Sweet malts, roasty, vanilla, with hints of coffee in the aroma. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smooth and roasty, great easy drinking porter, good chocolate flavors but not over pouring and its surprisingly light. Excellent beer. Wulfstan (509), California, USA Sep 17, 2007 Updated: Oct 5, 2007This is an excellent porter, in contrast to the same brewery’s Golden Ale (not good). It has good body and richness with a nice palate, with a good dark appearance ad nice aroma. The flavour is very nice, rich and chocolaty without being too chocolaty and one-sinded. There is a nice, though mild, complexity and smokiness and it is extremely drinkable. It also has good foam and lace
