stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 23, 2007 Bottle sampled. Pours dark with a large light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, smoke, roast, and coffee. the flavor is chocolate, lots of smokiness, roast, coffee, and a fair amount of bitterness in the finish. Good body, good brew. 9er (29), Delaware, USA Jul 23, 2007 This porter has distinct chicory and perhaps espresso flavor at the back of the palate. The aroma summons light pungent molasses. The color is amber and is lightly carbonated. badlizard (2326), Berkeley, California, USA Jul 21, 2007 500 mL bottle. Dark brown with fizzy white head. Roasty, chocolate, aroma with some mild skunk - hey, the light green glass bottle was their choice, not mine. Mostly roasted malt taste, but the skunk leaves this one undrinkable. Damn, I can tell there used to be a good beer in there. truebluehes (104), Tipton, Iowa, USA Jul 18, 2007 Bottle. No head, reddish brown color. Flavor was fairly malty and yeasty. Resembled a decent porter, but seemed a little watery. BuckeyeSammy (454), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Jul 17, 2007 Updated: Feb 12, 2008Literally smells like skunky weed. Carbinated, light mocha finish. Dark brown color. Not my favorate beer badgerben (3587), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Jul 9, 2007 Bottle. Very dark ruby, almost black color, with a thin and rapidly fading head. A little roasted aroma with chocolate and coffee. Sweet chocolate taste with a grainy, bitter finish. A little oaky. Wow, I wasn’t expecting this to be bad, but it is way better than I figured. zootfinster (179), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 4, 2007 Pours a clear dark brown with a fairly light hear with pretty large bubbles. A little too hoppy for a porter and lacks the heaviness of malt one would wish for. mcox90 (618), Wilton, USA Jul 1, 2007 500ml bottle, consumed at fridge temp. Pours a deep reddish brown, like the color of 100 year old mahogany woodwork. No head and no lacing. As I said, I drank this cold. At first there was a slight metallic taste to it, though not unpleasant. Slight bitterness on the back of the tongue. The brew has a dry mouthfeel. As the brew warmed we had the taste of semi sweet chocolate. I enjoyed this pint and will buy more if I come across it.
