| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 2, 2007 I really appreciated this beer. It had nice old world flavors. Poured a deep ruby, translucent, not opaque with a quickly gone head. The aroma was of malts and a bit bitter. Flavors varied, had a light mouthfeel, but I thought that it was well balanced with a decent crispness that make it quite...quaffable. cgarvieuk (4171), Edinburgh, Scotland

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 13, 2007 Pour is a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is nice with dark chocolate and butterscotch. Flavor is a big let down. Starts smooth but finish is tart and watery. Nothng real great and the cream stout is much better. Heathen (795), Riverside, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 8, 2007 THOUGHTS: I’ve always wanted to try one of the St. Peter’s beers and never got around to it until now, and I think I’ll try another. This is great. A tru porter. Nice coffee and chocolate notes in flavor and maybe just a touch of licorice. I’m not ga ga over Brittish ales but I don’t think I’ve met a Brittish porter I haven’t liked yet. Very crisp. I could drink this all night. Great bottle too.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a dark reddish brown or black when not in direct light, with a small to average, creamy, tan head that mostly diminished and left good lacing. The aroma was light to moderate caramel, chocolate, mild coffee and roasted and nutty malt and some licorice. The initial flavor was moderately sweet and lightly bitter, while the finish was light to moderately sweet and moderately bitter with an average duration. The body was medium and both dry and watery with soft, but lightly fizzy carbonation. Maria (6167), Thisted, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 6, 2007 Brown with a red hue and an OK head. The aroma has nice notes of chocolate. the flavour has notes of coffee, roasted malt, chocolate and a bit of licorice. I think it’s OK, but I would like it to have more complexity, and I prefer the Cream Stout. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA

Getting a light raw coffee and ash aroma. Flavor is quite thin. Light bitter malts, mild smoke, and a bitter ash finish. Body is thin. Average.
