Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles.
This fine beer is a blend of a mature old ale with a younger light beer - just as a true Porter should be. The marriage produces an extremely characterful brew which is dark in colour and complex in taste.

Bottle at Cerveceria Oldemburg, march 07. Raisiny, plum aroma. Deep, clear copper color and a nice, medium, beige head. Taste is toasty, some caramel but a bit skunked. Medium MF, not intrussive. Nice pint, not great, but achieves.

From a bottle purchased at "Keller’s IGA" in Cincinnati, Ohio, and served at cellar temperature - This one pours a dark brown brew with a creamy tan head of foam and a strangely light-for-a-porter malty aroma. Tastewise, there’s nothing light about it... there’s a complex swirl of chocolate, coffee, and malt flavors to this one that trails off into a cherry-like finish. A good beer!

Very good traditional porter with a flat chocolate and molasses, quite thick. Nice bitterness in finish

The color is a rich deep brown with hints of red. Patchy off white head with bubbly interresting lacing. Brandy, molasses and alcohol dominate the nose, followed by pine and smoke. The flavor is of sout and smokey soy, with a palate to match it;s depth. This beer is nothing to write home about.

500ml Bottle: Moderately sweet cream, coffee, chocolate, alcohol, roasted aroma. Poured a ruby/dark brown color with a small tan head that quickly diminished. Very small lacing. Clear. Mildly sweet and lightly bitter flavor. Starts sweet and chocolaty, then turns creamy before finishing as bitter chocolate and cream. Medium body. Texture is a little thick. Soft carbonation. Bitter finish. Overall, goes well with

Pours a plain dark brown. Smells of faint coffee and a malt/hop blend. While drinking it, it starts off with a bite then fades into roasted flavor. It is a little watery which might be part of the reason it goes down smooth.

Pours dark brown with thick tan head. Aroma of port, bitter chocolate, coffee, and a bit of yeast. Flavor is the same but a little thin. Extremely drinkable though.

Much better as it warmed. Cola colored, flat. Mild doughy aroma. Nutty malty gritty palate, some caramel in there. Not bad.
