Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles.
This fine beer is a blend of a mature old ale with a younger light beer - just as a true Porter should be. The marriage produces an extremely characterful brew which is dark in colour and complex in taste.

Aroma is a rosted/malty. Pour is very clean. A little bitter for a porter, but still was pretty good.

16.09 oz pour from goofy bottle at room temp. Huge tan, rocky head that diminishes quickly but laces nicely. Deep reddish color with nice malty aroma. Very smooth mouthfeel and a lingering taste of dark roasted malts + coffee hints. I’m not a porter fan, but this was great. I’d drink this again over many other beers. Maybe now I’m a porter fan, huh? Thanks to Dave G. for the gift.

I think I picked the wrong music for this one. This is best drunk alongside some dainty cutesy Mozart or Schubert chamber works, not Carl Nielsen’s Fourth Symphony.

Actually, that’s more a cheap shot at the beer’s dainty proper little head upon pour from dainty oval bottle, diminishing to a dainty proper almost-nothing. Aroma is enticing, roasty. Beer itself delivers a surprisingly undainty body and smooth dainty finish. If the appearance were more top-notch, this would be right up there. Like many a Porter of yore, it shall make for a fabulous session beverage.

Very dark red with gigantic head and a bunch of lace. The bottle looks awesome, by the way. Mild malty aroma. Interesting flavor that isn’t too strong. Some chocolate, a little watery. Very drinkable and refreshing but not great.

Bottle Dark pour with light creamy head. Very strong aroma of coffee, roasted malts and a liquorice or something. Pretty much the same thing in the flavor. A bit too thin and smooth though. Not bad, not the best porter I’ve had.

Bottled. Very dark red/brown, slight biege head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts and perhaps slightly bready. Slight liquorice flavour, with more roasted malts and chocolate. Slightly thin.

Smokey malt aroma. Black colour with good head and lacing. Bitter burnt smokey malt flavour. Flat palate.

Pours a deep brown, with a thin film and a scant ring of foam. Brilliant clear ruby colors dance in the dimple mug when it is held up to the light. Coffee and dried plum in the aroma - smells quite nice. A coffee roastiness and a fruity plum are in the flavor too, but they are behind a nice warming bittersweet chocolate flavor. I get roasted grain, more coffee, and a touch of alcohol in the finish. Medium bodied, smooth but not creamy, almost no carbonation. Very mild bitter roasted grain in the aftertaste.
