Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles.
This fine beer is a blend of a mature old ale with a younger light beer - just as a true Porter should be. The marriage produces an extremely characterful brew which is dark in colour and complex in taste.

Funky medicine bottle. Pours black with a small tan head. Smells of sweat and light hops with minimal malt. Taste is watery and plain with some earthy hops present. Overall a very boring beer.

Pours deep mahogany into a stem glass. Mocha head quickly subsides to skim rim and hug sides. Burnt chocolate and espresso aromas. Creamy with a medium body. Upfront sweet chocolate and a lasting bitter coffee finish.

Bottle sampled at my house thanks to The mad Indian. Pours dark with an off-white head. Aroma of coffee and roast. The flavor is coffee, roast, slight chocolate. Great beer.

Poured a mahogany color with off-white head. Scents of chocolate and coffee. To me, it looks better in this old-style bottle than in a glass. I prefer Original Flag Porter and Road Dog Scottish Porter only because I expected more from this beer.

Bottle. Pours with a dark brown, relatively thin body, and a small brown-white head. Nose is faintly molassessy. A very nice toasted malt flavor with just a hint of molasses sweetness. Palate is thin, but not disappointingly so. A very nice beer.

1 pint 0.9 oz bottle with very interesting shape and color. Antique looking. Very good porter. I was very surprised. Not to bitter at all. Nice strong coffee, and dark chocolate flavor. Scents of molasses. Very good. Buy this if you are a fan of porters.
