drpimento (785), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA Aug 23, 2006 Solid. Pours with a rich, creamy, foamy head and lots of lingering lace. Complex nose of dark malts, dark sugars, a little hop, yeast, and divinity! Been a while since I las had it. Too bad for me. Anyway, flavors in a big body of the aroma but much more all the way around. gunnfryd (3539), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 20, 2006 Bottle. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is dark chocolate and rosted malt. Flavour is roasted malt and chocolate . yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 17, 2006 Bottled. Very dark brown, looks clear. Dark chocolate and roasted malt in the aroma. The flavor har dark chocolate, roastiness and alcohol. A bit one-dimentional. Full body and a roasted finish. (060812) SmellGood (314), Memphis, Tennessee, USA Aug 14, 2006 Sweet smell of chocolate but a bit thin for my tastes beyond that. Would be a perfect compliment to a fat ribeye, medium cooked. bitbucket (2026), Kirkland, Washington, USA Aug 13, 2006 Bottled. Pours a translucent black/brown, with ruby highlights and a lacy light brown head. Medium mouthfeel with some light carbonation. The taste is sweet with some bittersweet chocolate, nuts, coffee and smoke. Smooth finish. after4ever (2711), Brier, Washington, USA Aug 13, 2006 17-oz., courtesy BitBucket Jr. Cool-@ss bottle. Pours thick and viscous black body with some dingy head and a huge puff of chocolate, caramel, molasses, and even a little whiff of coffee. A stout hiding behind a porter body, I say--not as filling as a stout, nor as creamy or as thick, but it has that three threads London meal-in-itself quality afoot. Lovely, lovely stuff that I could buy and/or serve by the case. Really a triumph. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Aug 9, 2006 Cask @ Jerusalem Tavern, London. Darkbrown almost black colour. Longlasting creamy tan head. Roasted malty aroma hints of honey. Also some spicy hints. Roasted malty slightly sour flavor. Malty finish with some bitterness. WeeHeavySD (2941), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Aug 7, 2006 Bottle. Drank on 8/6/06. Purchased ages ago at Chevy Chase Wine and Liquor in Washington DC. The beer pours a deep dark color, not black but damn close. The scent is very malty and rich with hints of chocolate and coffee. This is a great rich deep proter, that is satifying and slightly sweet. I’m always up to try another beer from this satisfying brewery.
