badinplaid (103), USA Jun 18, 2006 Pours with a rich mahogony body and minmal head. Intoxicating aromas, cna detect hints of Molasses, and coffee. Rich and Refreshing. Tmoney99 (4652), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Jun 17, 2006 Bottle. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy light brown head that lasted and produced good lacing. Moderatre burnt malt and coffee aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Medium balanced roasted flavor with a smooth roasted finish of moderate duration. HopsOrDie (687), New Lenox, Illinois, USA Jun 11, 2006 Pours a thin brown color with a medium tan head. Smells of yeast and sweet chocolate malt. Flavor is light on the palate with a roasted malt presence in the backend giving some bitterness. Seems like a middle of the road brewpub porter. ratman197 (3137), Arvada, Colorado, USA Jun 7, 2006 500 ml flask shaped bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a dissapating amber head. Aromas of bitter chocolate, mocha and some roastiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of bitter chocolate, roasted malt and some charcoal with a smooth slightly bitter finish. HighlanderOne (538), Somewherein, New Jersey, USA May 28, 2006 Poured from bottle - and that’s an intimidating bottle! This is quite a porter. Great roasty smell that is matched in the flavor. Has that kinda oily, porter feel to it. Flavor intensifies as you drink. Finished just as nice as it started. TheLeadDog (101), Kent, Washington, USA May 26, 2006 Good Porter! Poured very dark with no head. If fact I thought the bottle was flat. But upon tasting discovered that it had a very good flavor. Chocolate, carmel, coffee, and dark malt flavors all came through with a good finish at the end. I also like the bottles design and color. I enjoyed this beer with some very good Bison. To me a first rate Porter. Dorqui (1353), Brescia, Italy May 25, 2006 Bottled.
Dark and impenetrable mahogany color, nearly black one. Compact hazel foam, medium adhesion and duration. Rather light scent with light notes of braced caramel, dry/thirsty wood and ash. Decidedly more pleasant taste with good fizz, sturdy and balanced body. Notes of bitter chocolate, coffee, resin, dry wood and roast cereals. Bitter end with good alcoholic tone. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA May 22, 2006 Hard to rate this one. Pours clear dark brown with no head. Aroma is heavily coffee and leather. The taste is weak. Good coffee, malt, and some bitter hops, all with an earthy feel. Watery mouthfeel. Finished like an ESB. Overall, this was good, I just wanted more.
