dirkules (613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 2, 2005 Cola Brown pour with a bit of a soapy collecting head. the aroma is malty with a light roast on top of some wet grains. The palate is stronger than the smell with a nice full bitterness and cola flavour. The best of the St. Peters! pintbypint (1002), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Oct 2, 2005 500ml light green bottle. Poured ruby brown with a pillowy creamy tan head. Hoppy and roasty nose. Bitter chocolate flavour, late roasted bite. mephisto (1144), Taiwan Oct 2, 2005 bottled, black with very little head. aroma of coffee and chocolate, w/ note of caramel. medium bodied, a straight forward porter, decent. JohnBarleycorn (390), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 28, 2005 Coffee-black appearance is seconded by a faint whiff of coffee, plus decent malt and molasses. Big molasses shows through in the flavour, and the overall palate develops from a sweet beginning to a slightly bitter finish. Not bad, but there are far better porters out there. Palidor19 (1750), Brandon, Florida, USA Sep 23, 2005 Watery texture, a biut thin. taste of robust coffee and Dark Cocoa.
not the best, not to bad.
nick76 (2634), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 23, 2005 Heavily roasted malt with some chocolate and coffee. The appearance is dark brown and pours an average head. The flavor is very toasted and bitter; some sweetness and malt keep it interesting. The palate is thiner than expected but not bad. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 23, 2005 Like a stout. Looks dark like a porter, but light mouthfeel and chalkiness. Understated carbonated. Tabacco. Drop of chocolate malt. Nice drinking really. Good roasted barley but one-dimensional. Cool bottle blankboy (3157), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 22, 2005 Bottle. Pours dark brown with an average diminishing tan head. Mild aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt and spices. Flavour follows aroma and is quite tasty but it had a bit of a metallic taste for some reason. Mouthfeel is nice and creamy but is a little too thin. Very enjoyable.
