Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles.
This fine beer is a blend of a mature old ale with a younger light beer - just as a true Porter should be. The marriage produces an extremely characterful brew which is dark in colour and complex in taste.

Pours dark brown with slight tan head. Nose is of roasted malt and mild coffee. Flavor is chocolate, sweet and malty. Dry bitterness as it finishes.

Bottle. A very nice coffee malt aroma. Reddish brown color - clear with little head. A strong coffee malt flavor throughout - mildly bitter. Nice full body. Very enjoyable.

The unusual "cough medicine" style bottle got my attention, and seemed interesting. Poured like cola with no head to speak of. I know this is gonna sound strange but it kind of smells freezer burned. Pretty odd indeed. Not much aroma perhaps some coffee and fruit. Sour milk, coffee, burnt toast, and green flavors. Slightly bitter and acidic in the finish. You could consider it complex in a odd sort of way. This is going to stay in the tried it once catagory.

This looked a little watery when I poured it and didn’t have a very substantial head. The color is a darkish brown. The aroma is deep malts. The flavor is somewhat nutty and chocolatey, not bad, but with a flat mouthfeel. Not bad, but this GREEN bottled beer’s keeping is somewhat suspect. I’ll try this again on a later date.

Bottle (1 pt. 0.9 fl oz.) Dark reddish brown with a hint of ruby when held in direct light; decent-sized tan head that leaves substantial lacing. Really nice chocolatey aroma. Well-balanced; a little on the malty side, but pretty hoppy for a porter. Chocolate and roasted notes in the flavor. Not bad.

opaque brownish black. Didnt get much head. Rich roasted coffe aroma. Very smooth beer with a creamy mouthfeel. Roasted coffee and sweet flavor. An OK stout, just a fairly simple flavor. Enjoyable and drinkable.

Very dark brown with a small, quickly diminishing beige head. Nice complex aroma of dark fruit, smokey wood, and honey. Slightly metallic flavor with dark fruit, bitter chocolate and smoked wood. Fairly thin feel, nice moderate carbonation. Not bad, but I could do without the metallic taste.
