Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles.
This fine beer is a blend of a mature old ale with a younger light beer - just as a true Porter should be. The marriage produces an extremely characterful brew which is dark in colour and complex in taste.

Dark brown with a small tan head. Smoky roasted malt aroma. Flavor of roasted malt, smoke, and bitter dark chocolate. A little thin.

Roasted malts, chocolate in the aroma. Clear, but almost opaque dark ruby brown with tan head that recedes to decent cover with some coating on the glass. Very complex taste has plenty of roasted malts without overwhelming the subtler flavours - chocolate, sulfur, salt, some herbal notes and perhaps a touch of smoke. Fair bitterness marks the finish. Medium-full body, decent carbonation engages the tongue. Bottle.

thick and dark pour w/ a soap bublly head.. came in a cool looking bottle, smelled of carmel, coffee, and something earthy (grass maybe?)... the palate was mildly creamy a touch bitter, and had some good carbonation, the flavor was a little lacking for a porter but had the normal coffee w/ some maltiness and a bitter aftertaste. Overall nothing outstanding about this porter, but not a bad beer.

Slightly bitter taste with an extremely odd after-taste. The entire time I was drinking it I was trying to figure it out with no success.

(on bottle) When I wanna go for a old-style porter, this is what I aim for. Smells like a cola, has loads of roat too. Mouth is thin and watery; OK in this case. And a fantastic long and dry coffee finish. Good for me.
