Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles.
This fine beer is a blend of a mature old ale with a younger light beer - just as a true Porter should be. The marriage produces an extremely characterful brew which is dark in colour and complex in taste.

very dark-brown colour, chaotic foam with big bubbles, roasted coffeish aroma, chocolate, sweet and oily, the finish is slightly dry and bitter with long and subtle chocolatey notes - mmmmhh this is good !

Dark brown. Some burgundy colors at the edge of the glass. Light tan head. Creamy nose, caramel, toffee and milk chocolate nose. Medium bodied, with a light ash tray flavor, with an aged quality along with the regular creamy malts. OK at best... flavor is overall very sour and lactic.

Had to fight like hell to get a head on this beer. Large bubbles which did not last long. Swirling produces a nice thin foam. Nice roasted aroma. Roasted grains, burnt fried fish sticks and a good helping of licorice. Color is a deep port. Flavor is a bit watery and gritty. Tastes like there is some carbon present. Distinct burnt flavor with a bit of molasses. Finish is dry and smooth. Lingering bitterness and roasted flavor. Great aroma but is a little short in the flavor department. Thanks to radiomgb for this one!

Very dark with a ruby tinge. Almost headless and lightly carbonated. Subtle aromas of chocolate and malts. There is a grainy, almost burnt sugar taste that is balanced with some bitterness. Nice toasted aftertaste. Substantial but not too thick or overpowering with a simple, but addictive flavor. Bonus points for the old school bottle.

This one seemed like it may have suffered from being light struck, but still enjoyable. Obvious roasty nose, but much less bitterness in the flavor, with a lot of malt. One that I will have to try again.

Roasted malt candy with an underlying bourbon note...Roastiness verges on smokiness and monopolizes the bitter dimension...Green hops coexist snuggly at the taste level with the malty exploration but never impart bitterness...A minty character accompanies the near-cask mouthfeel for a quite pleasant pint of porter...Thanks Kimchee!!...

I don’t know how to describe this one... is it smoky?... malty?... maybe a little of both? It hints at chocolate, but like the Oilers (Houston), it chokes in the clutch. Still, not a bad offering- just not one I would get again.

Dark color, short brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, some licorice. Taste is smooth malty. Not quite strong, but nice.
