Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles.
This fine beer is a blend of a mature old ale with a younger light beer - just as a true Porter should be. The marriage produces an extremely characterful brew which is dark in colour and complex in taste.

Probably one of the thinnest porters I have ever had. It is hoppy (which I do not like in my porter) and leaves your mouth wickedly dry (not good after a whole day of skateboarding). I prefer the worst baltik over this any day.

Thanks to rcasta. It was a nice classic porter. Very smoky and peaty. Light bodied, but full of flavor.

Bottle. Poured deep red brown with thin lasting beige head. Much lacing. Aroma is malt and roast, fairly mild. Medium body. Malty flavour with coffee and chocolate notes. Light finish with malt and coffee. Would drink again.

16.9 ounce bottle - $3.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Pours a surprisingly clear, very dark, reddish-brown body with an inch of bubbly, off-white head. Smell: Mild, roast nose with meager notes of chocolate, nuts, and fruit. Taste: Roasty, coffee-toned malts with a surprisingly large dose of chocolate. A few oven-toasted almonds tossed in. Medium sweetness throughout. Very minor tough of sourish fruitiness. Rather hop character and bitterness. Finishes dry with a lingering taste of roasted malts. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Just a tad light in the body, but otherwise a pleasant, easy-drinking porter.

Poured from imperial pint bottle into dimpled mug. Aroma - Dark roasted malt, milky chocolate, and a bit of coffee. Appearance - Opaque black in color. Nice two finger tan head, that diminishes somewhat quickly, leaving light lacing on inside of glass. Flavor - Chocolate malt, more coffee than the smell would indicate, a bit of mild hops on the finish. Palate - Not as slick or as lingering as some English porters. Nice balance of malt and hops gives it a surprisingly quick finish. Overall - I would have to add this to my short list of drinkable porters. This has lots of flavor, yet not so heavy as to limit me to one bottle.

Bottled. Deeply fruity and rich, with a subtle taste of treacle. Complex and heavy, with plenty of bitterness, but tastes fantastic, reminds me of liquid Christams Pudding. A ruby tinge in a fine black ale.

I am a fan of Porters, this beer, I am not a fan of. It smelled "Of Crotch" according to fellow beer drinkers. Where as I think that may be off, it certainly did have a horrible aroma from the start. Taste wise it wasn’t much better, very skunky perhaps just a bad batch. Perhaps I will give it another chance, but it will be a while.

One of my favourite stout. it is a very dark brew, very bitter, but with an intensity in the tastes
