FezMonkey (268), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA May 25, 2004 Dark brown with very little head. Strong initial chocolate flavor that leaves you with coffee. A very nice beer. MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA May 23, 2004 Poured a cola brown color with very little carbonation. A nice combination of roasted malt, coffee, and a little chocolate. Lightly smokey. Finish is mostly coffee. Pretty good, enjoyable. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA May 20, 2004 First gotta say this stuff rocked. Full bodied, smoky, great balance of sweet and bitter. All of the good things I like in a porter and my favorite beer from this brewer. NobleSquirrel (1100), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 19, 2004 Sour coffee and nice chocolate aroma and a kiss of hops. Very dark translucent red with voluminous tannish green head? I like the smell. Think body, almost sour, like a dark roast coffee. Hoppy finish, very smooth, coffee aftertaste. pretty good, not great. Braudog (3733), Dayton, Ohio, USA May 16, 2004 Classic black beer with tan head. Sour coffee aroma. Similar java, yet sweet, flavors ... almost tart, an odd combination. frankR (145), Davis, California, USA May 15, 2004 Black liquid, creamy head that mostly diminishes, little lacing. Flavour is tar and roasted malts, a lot of green bottle character present. Rather undrinkable. VAYankee (248), Virginia, USA May 14, 2004 Dark brown (and slightly transparent) body with a frothy light brown head. Mild aroma of coffee lightly roasted, slightly malty and chocolatey. Start out abrasive - a quick burst of cocoa is quickly subverted less than pleasing smokeyiness and saltiness. OK finish of dry roasted malt. I am not a big fan of this beer. tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 7, 2004 I’m told this is one of the best representations of a true porter. It is unique, and I quite enjoy it. Almost a cola like appearance; subtle chocolate and spice aroma. Balanced malty body, nice bitterness in the finish. Not for everyone, but this one really impressed me. In bottle.
