COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular. Also available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles.
Hops: Challenger and Goldings.
This fine beer is a blend of a mature old ale with a younger light beer - just as a true Porter should be. The marriage produces an extremely characterful brew which is dark in colour and complex in taste.

Bottle. Dark ruby colour with small light brown head that turns into a circle in a minute. This beer has medium intensity aroma, mostly of dark chocolate and coffee and there is some caramel, too. A bit watery feeling in mouth with light bitternes at the start and a little more bitterness at aftertaste. OK beer, but nothing outstanding.

Very dark deep red, creamy beige head. Slightly metallic smell that disappears as the beer warms. Aromas of malts, burnt sugar, sweet fruits (raisins). Tastes of toasted malts with a light smoked note and dark fruits.

Belle bouteille. Arômes de malts et presque café. Malheureusement peu de corps, un peu trop légère, pas assez d’alcool. Bière plutôt plate.

A beautiful smooth porter that has a very smooth velvety taste. The porter has an exceptional creamy finish and a perfect dark amber appearance. Perfect lacing and an outstanding overall appearance. Finish is slightly bitter which balances well with maltiness of the porter.

500 ml bottle poured into English pint. Deep cola color with a dense khaki head that settles into a silky film leaving slight lacing. Light, slightly tangy roasty coffee aroma. Well-rounded toffee flavor with slight licorice notes and a nice bitterness in the finish. Soft mouthfeel. Overall better than I was expecting and a nice example of an English porter.

Tirando a buena.

Beese (1099) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 27, 2014
Bottle from the St Peter’s Brewery. Poured dark ruby with a dense beige head. Somewhat odd aroma of cream soda, ash and Oxo. Mouth feel was medium to full. Initial flavours of coffee, smoke and vanilla. Burnt toast on the palate with some balanced cocoa and brown sugar.
