1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Aroma was ok. I don’t know what a "old style porter" is supposed to taste like, all I know is that I didn’t like it. Way too sweet with a strong maltiness that overwhelms the palate. I don’t know what it is about this brewery and malt. This and the IPA are like watered down barley wine’s! Maybe they don’t fair well travelling all the way from England to the USA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured into a perfect pint.
3.5 A: Clear dark amber brown color. Just over one finger of frothy/creamy beige head. Retention is a touch below average, but a decent sized ring of lacing is left.
4.0 S: Roasted barley with toastiness and a heavy graininess. Under that there’s a doughy neutral sweetness. Dry with chocolate and caramel. Mineral with hints of coffee.
4.25 T: Taste is like the nose, but a little less dry, which makes for good balance overall. Roasty toasty malts, big graininess and doughiness. Chocolate, caramel, neutral malt chewiness. Mineral, coffee, and biscuit.
4.25 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Chewy without being sweet. Pleasantly creamy.
4.0 D: Another winner from this brewery. A very good option if you are in the mood for something English.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Appearance is dark ruby, with a ridiculous 5+ finger foamy light-brown head, which very slowly reduces to three fingers. Aroma- chocolate, burnt malt, honey, toast, cocoa, caramel, dark fruit undertones. Taste- initial hit of chocolate and coffee bitterness, a definite hop presence, dark malt, burnt toast, chocolate-covered caramel, quite a bit of carbonation cutting through a foamy mouthfeel, a clinging slightly bitter, burnt finish. Very good.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a nice deep brown with a tan head that disappears quickly. Aroma is a nice sweet roasted malt. Taste is a nice balance between hop and malt with a slight smokey clean finish.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Booths, MediaCityUK
Very dark caramel brown, clear, frothy white head
Aroma of spicy English hops, some skunk, mellow roast, some dark stone fruits
Taste of caramel, roasted malts, earthy hops, bit spicy, some bitter coffee, lots of twiggy hops, getting a rusty yeast...hmm not liking the flavour of this much
Palate - Soft carb, medium body. Finish quite dry, lingering spicy earthy hops, bitter roast
Overall - Sort of an old ale / porter cross. OK - just not me this beer

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Butelka 0,5 l. W aromacie przeważają słody palone. Piana średnio- i drobno pęcherzykowa, jasno beżowa, dość trwała i świetnie oblepiająca szkło. Piwo ma barwę ciemną, brązową i jest klarowne. W smaku, jak w aromacie, słody palone. Jest lekko słodkie a słodycz dobrze zbalansowana lekką goryczką. Ciało średnie. Nasycenie niskie do średniego. Ładna aksamitność. Przyjemny old-fasion porter. Warto spróbować, by poznać protoplastę naszych porterów bałtyckich :-).

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A beer I’ve had a couple of times in bottles before, albeit around 8 years ago. This time it’s from keg at the Jerusalem Tavern. Very dark red or black, small off-white head, full lacing. Aroma is roasty and sweet. Body is medium, foamy, fairly high carbonation. Taste is watery, a little astringent, some plum and prune juice, ash towards the finish. This doesn’t suit keg at all - too cold and overcarbonated.
