COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular. Also available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles.
Hops: Challenger and Goldings.
This fine beer is a blend of a mature old ale with a younger light beer - just as a true Porter should be. The marriage produces an extremely characterful brew which is dark in colour and complex in taste.

Color rojizo oscuro, espuma marfil ligera. Aromas dulces, pasas y café. En boca es ligera, entra casi sin darte cuenta y al tragar deja un amargor tostado muy ligero que tampoco persiste demasiado. Para quitarte el mono de porter, está bien.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Dark Brown in colour, 2 finger off white head. Aroma of malts, dark fruits, berries, coffee, dark chocolate. Much the same on the taste, perhaps with a touch of lemon. Complex!

Brown. Somewhat sweet at first, then becomes quite dry. Tastes a bit aged (maybe due to green bottle?). Fairly light body. The hops stand out more than the body. Good but not great.

BOTTLE 50 CL. Brown malt and bread, a touch of caramel in the aroma, dark bread crust, and a drop of hops too. Not much roasted notes, like chocolate or coffee. It is half-way between a mild and a modern porter. The flavour is brown malts, very restrained caramel sweetness, and a solid spicy bitter finish. Smooth mouth-feel, despite the lack of carbonation. it does not feel flat or watery. Nothing extreme here, just a smooth balanced beer. Surprisingly good.

Very interesting porter. Has a boozy taste to it that apparently it shouldn’t (only 5.1%). Some nutty and roasted malts flavors, along with a bit of cola. Thin, but not in a bad way. Slightly bitter. Some sugars in the nose that don’t necessarily show up in taste. Different than most porters, and for that reason I’m giving it extra credit.

Poured into a perfect pint. 3.5 A: Clear dark amber brown color. Just over one finger of frothy/creamy beige head. Retention is a touch below average, but a decent sized ring of lacing is left. 4.0 S: Roasted barley with toastiness and a heavy graininess. Under that there’s a doughy neutral sweetness. Dry with chocolate and caramel. Mineral with hints of coffee. 4.25 T: Taste is like the nose, but a little less dry, which makes for good balance overall. Roasty toasty malts, big graininess and doughiness. Chocolate, caramel, neutral malt chewiness. Mineral, coffee, and biscuit. 4.25 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Chewy without being sweet. Pleasantly creamy. 4.0 D: Another winner from this brewery. A very good option if you are in the mood for something English. DavoleBomb, May 29, 2013

Bottle. Appearance is dark ruby, with a ridiculous 5+ finger foamy light-brown head, which very slowly reduces to three fingers. Aroma- chocolate, burnt malt, honey, toast, cocoa, caramel, dark fruit undertones. Taste- initial hit of chocolate and coffee bitterness, a definite hop presence, dark malt, burnt toast, chocolate-covered caramel, quite a bit of carbonation cutting through a foamy mouthfeel, a clinging slightly bitter, burnt finish. Very good.

Pours a nice deep brown with a tan head that disappears quickly. Aroma is a nice sweet roasted malt. Taste is a nice balance between hop and malt with a slight smokey clean finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
