Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles.
This fine beer is a blend of a mature old ale with a younger light beer - just as a true Porter should be. The marriage produces an extremely characterful brew which is dark in colour and complex in taste.

A Mes rate: Bottle from the Jerusalem Tavern.
Rich mahogany with a decent tan head. Coffee and dark malted biscuits in the aroma with some rich pudding like stuff and a delicate smoky note. Flavour is nutty, malty and wonderfully smoky. Nice bitter chocolate. Good malt and hop balance. Nice and full, rich and chewy. Very enjoyable.

From dhrjericho. Pours a deep dark brown color. Aromas of chocolate, dark fruits. Flavor is big chocolate, a touch of coffee. Medium body witha creamy feel. Bittersweet chocolate finish and aftertaste. Like a tootsie roll.

Deep, dark color like oil. Think 2-3 finger head with some lacing. As I drink more I see a deep, ruby red color on the sides. One of the sweeter porters I’ve had, but a good bitter aftertaste. Not as smooth as some others, but interesting flavors from the blend of beers. Cool bottle with a great appearance, nose, palate, and good (not exceptional) flavor. Would definitely buy again.

500 mL. Dark brown, but transparent with ruby highlights when held to the light. Nice medium head that leaves a sudsy lace. Aroma is mostly subtle and dryish. Some rich chocolate, raisin, and graham cracker, maybe just a whiff of smoke and coffee. Flavor is similar. Palate is smooth and slightly dry. Slight herby hop aftertaste leaves a tingle and balances the malt very well. Excellent beer.
