Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles.
This fine beer is a blend of a mature old ale with a younger light beer - just as a true Porter should be. The marriage produces an extremely characterful brew which is dark in colour and complex in taste.

Chocolate, cherries and coffee aromas, deep ruby colour with a small cappuccino head, some very nice lace. Roasted coffee flavour, bitter chocolate and a faint smokey peat taste as well. Light bodied, almost creamy, luciously biiter! Well worth the wait, due to the L.C.B.O. red tape.

500ml Bottle: Moderately sweet cream, coffee, chocolate, alcohol, roasted aroma. Poured a ruby/dark brown color with a small tan head that quickly diminished. Very small lacing. Clear. Mildly sweet and lightly bitter flavor. Starts sweet and chocolaty, then turns creamy before finishing as bitter chocolate and cream. Medium body. Texture is a little thick. Soft carbonation. Bitter finish. Overall, goes well with

Tasteful. Comes in a great bottle and has a nice dark colour. Pours very thin, but it’s a smooth drink with cappuccino and cocoa notes ... not the best porter I’ve ever had, but still a good traditional brew.

So, I turn my head for just a second, and the next thing I see is my 4 year old niece drinking my beer. She takes a swig and says "Yum! taste like Tootsie Roll!". Couple of points: 1) four year olds should not drink beer. 2) Her observation was, for the most part, astute. This is heavy on the chocolate flavor and a fairly rich mouthfeel.

Typical porter appearance with a well roasted malty aroma, and a very dry roasted/coffee flavour. Overall a very good porter.

Pours a deep red-hued black, thin head and great lacing. Aroma is dark malts, chocolate, and cherries. Flavor is the same, though a little heavy on the cherries. Flavor becomes thin towards the end, and the palate is fairly thin throughout. Very quaffable.

Murky canal brown with a small short lasting beige head, Delicious roasted malt coffee, plum pudding hint of boot polish and alcohol aroma. Thin slightly chewy low carb dry mouth feel. Flavour is classic porter, big roasted dry malt, low sweetness and medium bitterness. Reminds me of a light espresso. Finish is crisp and drying. Nice

A somewhat treacley aroma, at first, but on warming it exhibits a little more complexity. Has some distinctly coffee-like aroma with some roastiness in there. The color is amber-brown. Malty sweet flavor with a lot of coffee in it. A very nice flavor that gets richer and richer the warmer it becomes.
