Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles.
This fine beer is a blend of a mature old ale with a younger light beer - just as a true Porter should be. The marriage produces an extremely characterful brew which is dark in colour and complex in taste.

Clear, dark mahagony red with little head. Chocolaty aroma with a little licorice and charred wood and molasses. Medium bodied and pleasantly bitter. Roasted and blackened flavors with some tart and fruity.

pours dark with no head...aroma is a bit tart, with the usual hints of chocolate and coffee.....flavor is a very roasted, smoky chocolate, with a touch of vanilla...palate is a tad thin, but not bad

Heavy, ultra sweet caramel, nut, and honey nose. Deep dark, ruby red with a very thin head and trace lacing. Very flat, very sweet and malty. Zero carbonation. Syrupy. Slightly astringent flavor - not necessarily bad but just enough to remind you of the alcohol. A decent porter offering overall, though I don’t know that I’d go out of my way to find it again.

Thanks to rcasta. It was a nice classic porter. Very smoky and peaty. Light bodied, but full of flavor.

Bottle at Cerveceria Oldemburg, march 07. Raisiny, plum aroma. Deep, clear copper color and a nice, medium, beige head. Taste is toasty, some caramel but a bit skunked. Medium MF, not intrussive. Nice pint, not great, but achieves.

This beer got better I as I keep drinking it. At first it seemed too sharp, but mellowed out as it went on. The super intense aftertaste never went away though.
