Chapel (329), Levittown, New York, USA Oct 2, 2007 Bought because of the interesting bottle, I’ll admit. Looks much more like a scotch than an ale. Pours deep amber with a yellow rapidly disappearing head. Aroma is a strong but cleanly balanced light roasted malt/hops. There is just an interesting aspect about this ale that makes it very smooth. Flavor is balanced with the same ’clean’ hops at the end as in the aroma. I wonder if the cleanness as anything to do with the organic aspect? yarry (370), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada Oct 1, 2007 500ml bottle, 4.5% a/v
Gorgeous bottle. Very well carbonated with a coppery gold colour. A large white head as well. The nose is skunky and hoppy. The Taste is gloriously hoppy with a nice malt infused hop aftertaste. BelgianBeerGal (1276), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Oct 1, 2007 Very clever 50cL bottle that is a prize for homebrewers I am told. Both the appearance and the flavor were buttery and creamy to me. Easy drinking, enjoyable ale. Slipstream (734), USA Sep 27, 2007 I love that unusual medicine bottle design, and there is a mysterious key and crow on the label! This is a brass-colored beer with a frothy head. Floral and vegetal touches in the aroma. Smooth, gentle, and fresh flavor, with hops in the finish. What holds me back from a higher rating is its mildness. A good all-purpose ale - I could have a few of these and just sit and marvel at the bottle. wshores (57), Saltillo, Texas, USA Sep 25, 2007 Suprise, Suprise, I love it when it happens. Excellent drinking beer. Slightly murky off gold color, possibly a little yellow green? Aroma of fresh bailed hay. Nice medium malty feel. A little hops. Not anywhere near my favorite styles but this was great. Thank you Kim (my gf) for picking this out, she liked the bottle. jvmiller (532), Bel Air, Maryland, USA Sep 24, 2007 Interesting malt presence, very flavorful beer. Clean, refreshing, and easy to drink. Very light on the palate. I don’t think its anything overly great, but to me it was a refreshing change from some heavier beers. Something I’d come back to. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Sep 19, 2007 Pour: light golden orange. Head: creamy frothy thick offwhite. Aroma: crisp, citrusy hop. Flavor: has a sour note to it, hops, slight bitterness, waxy, not terrible. Palate/Finish: clean. Wulfstan (509), California, USA Sep 17, 2007 Updated: May 13, 2008This beer is very flavourful, with nice complexity and some subtle notes. Light golden-amber, it has a fairly nice off-white head that steadily shrinks. It smells of bread, citrus, with hints of pine and caramel. It has a richness to the feel and flavour with a nice smokey hint lurking under trhe toasty bread, citrus, and pine. It is well balanced with the edge just toward the bitterness. Being flavourful, yet well-rounded and balanced, it is very enjoyable and drinkable, even memorable.
