They poured this into a Shaker Pint. Pour is hazy orange and gold with only a few soapy cream bubbles on the top - this was mostly due to how the waiter poured it. Why won’t places either A) learn how to pour a beer - or - B) Not get so offended if I ask to pour my own beer? The aroma is softly toasty biscuit malt, very natural and fresh smelling. Behind that is some hay and straw, though that is very mild. Aroma presence is very mild, what is there is floral. The taste is initially very flat and watery tasting, though, I almost immediately adjusted and began to enjoy this. The flavor is mostly the grainy, toasty, biscuit sweet malt of the nose, with some ever so mild but pleasant floral hop bitterness. There is earthiness and straw and hay near the finish. The palate, as mentioned, was almost entirely flat, medium to thin, the graininess gave it body. Overall, a nice drinkable beer. skoll (127), Traverse City, Michigan, USA

The aroma is caramel and some grassiness, some buttered toast, and a brief whiff of skunk. The flavor is quite grassy with lemon, caramel, and toffee notes. The finish is slightly dry, toasty. goes nice with the chicken dish that I had. MoritzF (4926), Bochum, Germany
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 6, 2009 (bottle) Hazy, orange-golden colour with a short but creamy and dense off-white foam. Limey and spicy hoppy aroma with a well blended, minimal toasty malt-character. Bitter flavour with a light malty sweetness, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Soft malt-character with a good dash of aromatic hops; bitter and slightly fruity finish. A likeable standard Ale (04.VII.09). durhambeer (1202), Durham, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Poured a nice orange colour with an off-white small sized head and a lot of messy lacing. There is an interesting aroma in my glass with its dark apple and spice, something that makes me think of oranges and excellent prominent fruity hops. Taste is suprisingly bitter initially (pine, sort of not-sweet-orange(very weak)), but it fades to a soft tangy fruit flavour. These hops they’ve stuffed into my bottle are awesome and give off some very stiff bitter flavours - way more bitter than I remember. Mouthfeel is really good - smooth with ample carbonation, medium bodied. Finishes with a zesty bitterness and a touch of acidness. Man, the hops really try to wreck your mouth!. Really good beer, a bit different but too much spice for me to drink more than one..(times have obviously changed as I think that this beer kills now! The hops are incredible!). Very lengthy hard bitter finish. I knew this was good, I just forgot how good. A must buy. Geiserich (1778), Vienna, Austria
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Bottle: Light orange color. Some grainy aromas but more bitter hop notes. Flavor with bitter hops, citrus hops and a medical bitterness. Some aroma hop notes in the end. Dry long, bitter finish. Not my beer. RHeastings (395), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 6, 2009 Enjoyed from a 1 pint green bottle in a pub glass. Given the fact that I had heard previously of St. Peters, I was pretty excited to try this one, yet wary of the fact that it came in a green bottle. My fears were confirmed when I smelled the beer after taking off the cap...skunked to the highest degree. However, given the price and the fact that no real drinker ever pours out a beer, I decided to look past the skunked-ness and move forward...
There is a nice note of toasted malt toward the middle to back end of this one, along with a nice finish. It was a shame that light exposure destroyed what otherwise seemed to be a well-crafted beer. Perhaps the brewers will read enough of these sorts of reviews and step into the 19th century and use brown bottles.
