Paskal (146), La Prairie, Quebec, Canada Oct 27, 2005 Bouteille-Très forte odeur de houblon et d’épices. De couleur ambre-orangé troublé. Mousse inexistante. Que du houblon dans le goût qui, lui, se situe à l’arrière de la langue.--Bottle-Strong smell of hop ans spices. Ambered and orange color very cloudy. Non-existing head. All it tastes is hop. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA Oct 25, 2005 Pours dark golden with minimal head. Aroma and flavor very muted, stale, oxidized hops. Almost no malt detectable whatsoever. Blond ale? Fish (439), Kure, Japan Oct 23, 2005 Nothing really spectacular going on here. The old style porter was the other St. Peter’s beer available at the World Beer Festival, but I’d had that one already. I have to admit, these are some of the coolest beer bottles around. bigrond (1043), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 22, 2005 this shouldn’t be listed as a blond ale. more of a english ipa. aromatic at the start and smooth drinking withh a sweet carmel finish - deserves better scores biomechanic (55), Washington, USA Oct 21, 2005 This beer reminds me of the old saying, "don’t judge the book by it’s cover". Is not as bad but I was expecting more.Virtually no head, nice amber color;grassy, floral taste. rlgk (3377), Vårgårda, Sweden Oct 15, 2005 Orange, almost no head. Nutty, malty aroma with some almond. Flavor is nutty as well, malty and a bit fruity, some hops and the hops comes clearer in the finish. Some nuts in the finish as well. bmanning (142), Arlington, Virginia, USA Oct 6, 2005 I had this beer a few months ago before I started rating and I remember how disapointed I was with it. There was hardly any head at all and only a slight hoppy aroma. All I remember about the taste is that the hops made it taste grassy, and that’s about all you could taste. The only thing I liked about this beer was the cool retro bottle it came in. kramer (2406), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 15, 2005 16.9 oz bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy copper with minimal head. Aroma is a little faint, some sweet malt, some floral hop. Flavor is really nice, a little sweet at first, then a malty middle, then a nice crisp bitter finish. This is just a nice easy drinking English session beer. Shown above as a Golden Ale/Blond Ale, but I don’t think that either fits this beer, more of a classic English Pale Ale. Palate is good, perfect amount of carbonation, soft finish. Overall I wouldn’t hesitate to get again, very drinkable.
