ChainGangGuy (2522), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Nov 20, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear, copper body with a full, frothy, white head.
Smell: Grassy, flowery hop aroma upfront with some meager malt hints smelling lightly of caramel and day old Cuban bread in back.
Taste: Pale maltiness with light tastes of grainy bread and caramel. Faint fruitiness. Grassy, floral hops with a medium, cleansing bitterness. Hops dominate the finish and leave you with a slight lingering bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Paired well with the 1925 film version of The Phantom of the Opera. A fine, flavorful English ale. Sigmund (2197), Hafrsfjord, Norway Nov 18, 2008 500 ml bottle, bought at Vaaland Spesialbutikken, Bryne. ABV is 4.5%. Deep golden to brown colour, moderate carbonation, low head. Nice aroma of fruity hops. Well balanced flavour with distinct fruity hops on a sufficient malty base, and a grapefruity bitterness in the finish. Good beer! BeerLS (20), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 29, 2008 Yeasty, hoppy and some citrus. not too much carbonation. (110808) rodenbach99 (675), Longueuil, Quebec, Canada Oct 22, 2008 belle bouteille verte de 500ml, bière dorée peu de mousse, nez agréable, bouche ronde piquante, belle amertume, fin de bouche amère, parfaite hobbersr (393), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada Oct 21, 2008 Pours a nice marmalade colour with a small head. Aroma is a very unpleasant bitter smell with hints of white glue and vomit. taste is also bitter, white glue and VOMIT. Undrinkable disgusting nasty garbage beer. Bad bottle? Would take a Coors light or Bud over this, and down the sink it goes. Lunkie (1020), Glen Iris, Australia Oct 19, 2008 Stale hop malt ashtray aroma. Murky amber colour with fair head and lacing. Hop malt flavour with stale ashtray aftertaste. Fizzy palate.
