Drew Blood (151), Mt.Prospect, Illinois, USA Oct 9, 2002 Impressive packaging for a rather dull bitter. Citris and malts are present in small amounts.
jrs (1), , Kansas, USA does not count Aug 27, 2008 I was drawn to the beer by the bottle, a different "flask shaped oval bottle." When I looked a bit closer though, I was turned away a bit by the bottle. Light green in color, I was afraid it was just going to be another skunky ale.
After keeping it for a couple weeks, I finally opened it and shared it with a friend. At a full pint, it would be a great portion for one, but works well for two (especially for tasting).
On opening, my fears were met by my nose with a worrisome skunky aroma, but it as well pronounced as an aroma.
The look was great. Beautiful head, with a nice soft amber color. I must say the taste was surprisingly hoppy for the aroma. I found myself really enjoying the beer.
I wouldn’t say it is the best beer I’ve ever had, but it does have a good taste. I’d buy it again. NJBeerman013 (579), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Aug 27, 2008 500 ml bottle. Labeled as English Ale. Pours a warm, unfiltered golden in color with a rapidly fading head, leaving behind strings of lace. The aroma is doughy, yet sharp and tart. Aside from a generous zing of hops, there really isn’t too much else to note flavor wise. It has a medium body and a crisp bite to the finish. I had higher hopes for this beer. ghawener (679), San Salvador, El Salvador Aug 11, 2008 Cool Bottle: Great bottle looks like old cough syrup remedy. Unfortunately it also taste like it. Finish is weak and bland. Geth_in_beer (667), Nova Scotia, Canada Aug 9, 2008 Bottle. Fresh aroma of hops. Orange copper appearance. Little bit of fruit and hops but rather hard to get anything from it. Crisp ale. Another beer with the organic label, but surly not. Pretty poor really. SeanMacGC (32), Dublin, Ireland Aug 2, 2008 500 ml bottle. Nothing to appeal very much to me in this one at all - extremely low carbonation, watery constitution, and rewarding on neither the nose nor the palate.
