0.5L bottle. Cloudy grain coffee color. Sweet toffee and grain aroma. Caramel, roasted malt, water, grain, flavors. Quite booring. This is not real bitter. Modest and flavourness. Light finish. Watery old coffee grains mouthfeel.

Bottle. Dark red/copper body, medium head. Aroma has nice English hops: caramelly and even a hint of chocolate somewhere. Full body with a good balanced mouthfeel; taste has toasty malts and a smooth hoppiness that is not over the top. It’s tasty and has a high drinkability. In some ways it’s bold and flavourful like English Strong Ales only without the extra alcohol.

Aroma: dark malts, sweet, herbs. Appearance: clear dark ruby color, nice thin head. Taste: medium bitterness (herbs), dark malts, dry and watery, earthy. Palate: medium body, low carbonation, bitter finish, earthy and slightly roasted aftertaste. Overall: Classical noble red ale. Nice complex taste, not overwhelming bitterness. Easy drinking and enjoyable.

Rødbrun i fargen, lavt skum. Litt anonym aroma av malt. Smaken er mer interessant, malt og lett bitter. Noe karamell i bakgrunnen. Ganske så lettdrikkelig. Medium konsistens og en behagelig småbitter ettersmak.

500ml bottle, gift. Love the oval bottle. Big bubbly light tan head, good lacing. Body is clear deep ruby. Nose is apple, a little grass. Flavour is caramel, malty, a little brown sugar on the finish. There's some light berry flavour in there as well. Medium carbonation. Good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Bottle at home 10.02.14. I love this stuff - so a slightly biased review. Pours dark copper red with a slightly yeasty medium head. Slightly coffee and spicey aroma mixed with maltiness. Medium to high carbonation is my only reservation about this beer - I think it’s slightly high but this may not be the case on cask. Wonderful rich and malty taste with a deeply set hop which drives into the finish. Body and palate are very well balanced, leaving a slightly nutty taste if you haven’t had another mouthful already by then.

Kort noe bitter ettersmak, medium bitter.
