1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
A brown beer with a beutiful light brown head. The aroma is sour and not so pleasant with notes of cinnamon, pears, and apples. The flavor is bad too, it tastes like dry burned peat - and it burns in your throat.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Bottle 50 cl) Clear warm mahogany with a small, rough, off-white head. Aroma of cinnamon and roasted malt. Medium-bodied, hard roasted/burned malt dominate with a whiff of cinnamon in the finish. Distinct bitterness from the malt. OK, but quite odd. 040307

0.7 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Black. Huge, bitter pine needle aroma. Plastic artificial aroma. Interesting but absolutely undrinkable. Tastes like Fernet-Branca.
Thanks Oakes for bringing me this... Is this your payback for me bringing you the Munkbo Starkölsglögg? ;-)

Warning! Early amateur rating! Toffee and bitter smoke with an apple undertone. Cinnamon and caramel finish. Complex and very nice.

Cask at Jerusalem Tavern. Bit of an oddity this one, had it on the recommendation of the person next to me. Black hardly any carbonation. To me it tasted a bit like an old ale. Some spice, but won’t be trying it again in a hurry

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled (BB 03/2006)
Dark brown, almost opaque. Very small expresso head. Aroma is spiced: apple, cinnamon and raisins. Medium to full-bodied, peppery palate which has gingerbread biscuit and other christmasy flavors. Soft palate, not much bitterness, slightly roasted aftertaste and some chocolate notes. This is Christmas Porter.

Really ugly dark brown, no head. Oh this isn’t funny folks - smells like effin’ Jagermeister. Tastes like it too, only with the addition of bitter cooca, roots, twigs and the cheapest orange pekoe money can buy. It says you can mull it, and I hope so because it’s undrinkable cold. Off to the nuker I go! Okay, it’s foamed up now so that it at least looks like beer. The cinnamon jumps out of the mug a lot more now, along with alcohol and black cherry esters (or is this a Quelque Chose flashback?) Speakings of flashbacks, strong spiced ale in a stoneware mug takes me back to Tallinn and the fine spiced ales at Olde Hansa.
OH shit this is awful! People talk about beers that are like tar well let me tell you something, you don’t know tar til you’ve had this. The body is actually rather thin but the taste...you know when you brush your teeth and then drink orange juice right afterwards? Multiply that by ten and you’re in the ballpark.
Bov, Floris Chocolat has a rival.
