500 ml bottle. Copper coloured beer with a thin tan-coloured head. Massive gingery aroma with a bright lemon character underneath it. There is a is mostly about the ginger. There is also a light spicy character underlining the herbal ginger and lemon. The body is suggestion of malty sweetness, but this slightly thin, but there is a honeyish sweetness that plays well against the ginger and lemon. On the finish the lemon oils appear to coat the tongue and give a slightly perfumy astringency that is quite refreshing. I didnít think Iíd like this, but I really did.

Bottled, Pasteuised. Golden beer with short lived head. As it comes in a medicine bottle you should know what you are getting. This is lemon and Ginger cough medicine, pure and simple.

Cask Conditioned. Overwhelming flavours, unmistakeable Lemon & Ginger, but unfortunately nothing drinkable.

This works as a smell but sucks as a beer. Points for innovation, but I wonít be drinking it again.

Bottled. Golden colour. Well... Ginger aroma with a dash of lemon. Not much beer character remains, but itís still not bad. Unusual to say the least.

3.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask conditioned - Air Dispense - Jerusalem Tavern Britton Street Central London. (RB London Xmas Crawl 2004). I loved the ginger aroma to this beer. It was noticeable from a distance and reminded me of the spices floating in the air in an Indian restaurant. The taste however is not as good. Too much sweet ginger and a bit toilet like. Odd.

Cask conditioned at the Jerusalem, Clerkenwell, London.
Horrible rubbish, tasted like Flash liquid smells. Lemon cordial isnít a favourite of mine in beer, and I really donít like ginger. Very poor.
Sampled on the Ratebeer London Meetup & Pub Crawl, December 2004. With Silktork, Chris_o & Maeib.

It pours a coppery amber with a foamy, white head and has the aroma of fresh, homebrewed Ginger Beer. The body is bitter and refreshing with a slight citrus tang and a hint of mouthwarming ginger. Much better than the first time I drank it. Both bottles were bought around the same time, but this one has sat in my cellar for a while and has now expired (BB 14 March 2004). This seems to have improved the body.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Coppery colour. Slightly hazy. The aroma and flavours are dominated by ginger, which overwhelms any lemon notes. No subtlety and the overall feel is a bit artificial - more like a heavy dose of ginger essence than delicate fresh ginger. Not really my cup of tea. Cask (gravity), Red Lion, Isleworth.

Clear orange color, short head. Aroma of lemonjuice and dishwater. Sour lemon taste, spicy from ginger. Bit sticky palate.
