johndoughty (1660), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England Jul 22, 2006 Very clear golden apprearance with a dry bitterness that really hits you.Rich full hoppiness and plenty of body. Left plenty of lacing and a strong aftertaste.
Very nice as long as you dont like your beers to be subtle. gam (576), brisbane, Australia May 11, 2008 Thin head on orange pour, good carbonation, aroma buttery, crip and nutty, very aromatic hops.Flavour citrus, oily, nutty, and buttery, has a sharpness and grittyness,a drink to sit back and enjoy. Some butter and nut tasting beers are bland and boring, this is lovely.Finish full flavour, bitter dry. Mes_and_Sim (4476), Highgate, Greater London, England Feb 1, 2008 A Mes rate: Bottle at the Jerusalem Tavern. Lovely clean golden brown with a very well behaved creamy head. Creamy vanilla aroma with light grapefruit and tobacco. Lovely hops and a hint of malt. Really nice hoppage in the flavour with plenty more tobacco and a very good nutty malt base. Lovely grapefruit hop finish. Balance is pretty damn good. Nice bite at the sides of the palate from the grapefruit. Interesting and plenty of character. Just the right amount of body. Jolly good stuff. Svesse (1811), Hässelby, Sweden Nov 29, 2006 (Cask at Jerusalem Tavern, Farringdon, London, 23 Nov) Amber colour with a short white head. Fruity nose with grapefruit and earthy hops. Fruity taste with grapefruit and lots of earthy hops in the bitter finish. Rather one dimensional but with a lovely hop aroma. Enough malt to give it a nice balance. maxbeer (115), Italy May 9, 2007 Cask at Jerusalem Tavern. Golden; nice hoppiness not just in aroma and bitterness but even more in the taste, with the dry edge of a Burton pale ale.
Also the bottles version was good, with an even sharper hop bitterness.
