Hmmm Very peaty aroma however the appearance dissappoints, very watery. The taste is all peat with nothing to following or nothing beginning. Quite dissapointing but worth trying once.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Golden, small to average and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty and lightly sweetish aroma, light peat and light smokiness. Body is light to medium, malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel, light peat and smokiness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, some caramel, some peat and light smokiness. Nice peat aroma/flavor - could use more body and less caramel in the flavor/finish.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Mildly sweet (cara-)malty aroma with a distinctive peaty touch with subtle fruity hops in the background. Mildly bitter and sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Peat-malty taste with a present fruity hops character; dry and mildly bitter peaty and iodinic finish, again with fruity hops shining through. Not as extreme as The Saints. 08.I.12

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 15, 2012 500ml bottle. Clear golden colour with thin, quickly fading white head. Pronounced whiskey-like peaty smoke aroma, a bit perfumed, in a way fitted and thinner, less malt-generated compared to a typical Bambergian Smoked. Nonetheless a particular and interesting aroma. Body is too light to stand the aroma. The connection between malt and smoke could be rounder, more harmonical, Taste is too watery, both components canít really find their way together. Not perfect, but still a very good one.
Why is it "Scotch Ale"-categorized? Should be rubricated as "Smoked".

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Shared bottle at Cardinal. Pours clear golden with no head at all. Aroma of bonfire, tar and bacon. Taste is milder smoked than suggested by the smokey aroma. Light bitter end.
