Ungstrup (33771) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - FEB 29, 2012
Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of peated malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of peated malt, caramel, and a bit of smoke, leading to a dry smokey finish.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yngwie. Pours an almost clear amber with a small off-white head. Thick and heavy smoke aroma - really really tough. Medium body, some caramellish sweetness, peat, ashes and iodine - all the things I don’t really like in my beer (or whisky) for that matter. 261111

Bright clear gold - amber beer. Small white head. Crispy palate. Smoky peat dominates the beer. Whisper of citrus. More smoky peat before the crisp finish. Lingering smoky aftertaste with some hop bitterness. Not as full on as the Saints but still quite extreme!

UPDATED: OCT 22, 2011 Cask at The Jerusalem Tavern, London. Pours clear gold with a fine, white head. Some sharp smoke in the aroma. Great flavor, light to medium sweet with a pronounced smokiness. Lots of minerals and stones, light honey and caramel, faint toast, just a kiss of ham. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Rich smoke in the finish with a strong mineral quality to it. Quite easy and enjoyable to drink. The smoke lingers. Lightly dry. Very solid beer overall.

Clear amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and heavy smoked - peat. Flavor is medium sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. This is just peated smoke all the way. 180312

Bottle. It pours a clear, dark golden body under a small, off-white head. Very peaty on the nose, rather fruity too. A bit too peaty I think, but it’s quite pleasant anyway. It’s dry on the palate, medium bodied and a bit hard on the carbonation. It’s peated and fruity in the mouth, slightly iodine-like towards the end. Some bitterness too. I’m normally not a fan of peat smoke, but this isn’t bad. 111126
