"Whisky Beer"
A superb balanced beer with ’smokey’ overtones from peated malt. With a measure of English Whisky from St. George’s Distillery in Norfolk, it is rich in flavour.

500ml bottle at Blå Rock Café. Bubbly, off-white head that stayed well on top of a deep, copper coloured body. Moderate smoked malty nose with herbal hops. Taste of whisky, peat smoke, wood, and caramel malts. Dry ending with hoppy hints. Just alright, maybe a bit unvaried (Tromsø 08.11.2013).

Bottle. Clear deep golden color with a medium thin foamy head. Aroma of smoke, peat and grain. A bit salty taste with medium bitter finish. Medium body.

Bottle. Golden body (pilsner golden) with a small head. Aroma has unexpected smoke, almost leathery. This is clearly a love or hate thing. I happen to like smoked food and beer. The smoke dominates the taste too. Expected it to be darker. A nice smoke beer in a cool bottle.

Clear orange, small white head with some lacing. Nose is toasty, malty, peaty notes, wood, caramel. Taste is peaty, herbal, malty notes, slight sweetness, smoke. Finish is malty with hop tones. Medium body, smooth carbonation, watery to oily texture. Odd, but I like it.

Lykt av mye røykt. Gyllen/gulfarge. Sterk smak av røykt med en anelse bitterhet. Greit nok.

Amber beer with little head. Aroma off peated malt and a malty body. Flavour is not the best peat aroma, going over to the sour part on the peat. Really sitting with only the sourness, almost halfsmoked cigarette flavour in my mouth. Far from the best peatbeer ive tasted

500ml bottle. Clear golden color. Tiny head, stays. Massive smokiness and peat, but also some leather in aroma. Peat, smokiness, malty, sweet, mildly ashy flavor. Nicely balanced and quite easy to drink.

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2013 500ml bottle (Koht, Tallinn)
Lovely soft smoky whisky aroma, pure guilty pleasure. Typical paleish beery colour, large tight head. Slightly watery palate, crisp carbonation. Touch wooly in the taste, as it warms it fills out and is nicely full and malty. Dry woody smoky bitterness builds up too. Dry finish, whisky. Quite simple, but very tasty.

2013-04-18. Crisp golden body, nice white head. Really strong aroma of peaty iodine. Flavour is similarly powerful peat smoke. Interesting notes of malt and pleasant bitterness in the finish but each new sip brings another wave of intense peaty smoke. Average bodied palate. Intense, not at all to my tastes. Bottle from the LCBO, Toronto
