"Whisky Beer"
A superb balanced beer with ’smokey’ overtones from peated malt. With a measure of English Whisky from St. George’s Distillery in Norfolk, it is rich in flavour.

Bottle: Poured a light clear copper color ale with a large foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry malty notes and powerful peat notes is quite something. Taste is overpowered by peat malt notes with some dry caramel malt also discernable. Body is pretty light with good carbonation. I love peat malt but this is quite overpowering and there would be advantage to have a bit of residual sugar to balance out the peat. Interesting experiment but not something I would seek again.

Bottle. Pours a clear, golden beer with a very small head that dissipates quick. Aroma has peat, some smoke and overall heavily peated Scotch whisky. Beautifull. Flavour is very malty, peaty and has a smokey aftertaste.. Bit sour, almost tart like finish, but very peaty... perhaps too much but I love peat in my whisky’s and I love it in my beers.. Lovely brew...

Bottle sample. Slightly hazy golden color with a minimal head. Aromas of burned rubber, pretty intense peat, some plastic and no hops. Smokey flavors, low bitterness, caramel malts and whiskey notes. Crisp, light-med bodied, dry, long finish. Strange and interesting.

Definitely smell the peated malt in this - more than anything. A powerful aroma that stays with you all the way through the beer and makes hell of any other aromas or tastes. At the same time, it also tastes too much like peat moss and it’s not something I generally like to eat. Pours light orange with decent head and lacing. Not sure where the whiskey comes into this. Bottle.

This is a mess. Pours a thin piss yellow with a small white ring and haze. Aroma is smoke and a slight whiskey sweetness. Taste is surprisingly peat smoke that overpowers the whiskey sweetness that is hard to pick out. I had high hopes for this with the name beer with whiskey. Smokey overtones is an understatement. This is a smoked beer. Scotch ale is pretty much undetectable.,

Golden and slightly hazy. Aroma is wood and smoke with sweet malt in the back. Taste is heavy smokey peat, but mellows out leaving a light and slightly watery mouthfeel. Abit too light for all this flavour.

pours almost clear very pale golden with a very small white cap, little retention, no lacing. aroma is peat and weak lightly sugary malts with a hint of herbal blandness. taste is about the same. no complexity. aggressive carbonation, light body - watery, short but present grassy-citrusy finish. overall: nice peated malt, the rest is less than meh.

Deep yellow coloured, without a head. The aroma is big peat whiskey and wood, and that’s what I get in the taste. Highly carbonated, not so drinkable, like a cheap watered down whiskey. Why drink it at all, I could not. At least it was not high abv.

Bottle [500ml]. Pours a slightly hazy orange-copper with an average size semi-lasting fluffy off-white head. Aroma of smoke, peaty and meaty, followed by fruit, salt and some sweet malt in the back. Flavour is quite smokey, surprisingly and pleasantly so, along with some malt and fruit, but it’s mainly about the smoke. Slightly bitter finish. The impression of alcohol but it’s a 4.8% beer so that’s odd. Average bodied. Surprisingly bold, and enjoyable, for this brewery. Well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500mL bottle from the LCBO. Pours a clear orange colour with a little bit of white head that dissipates really quickly. Smell is a tiny bit hoppy with some whisky and a some strange rotten chemicals. Palate is light bodied and kind of watery. Taste is not great, kind of bland and watery at first then goes to something kind of like really bad whisky. Overall not a great beer at all. Not a drain pour but close.
