2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
500 ml bottle from LCBO, served cool in a tulip glass. 13OC12.
App.: Clear deep golden/light amber with a moderate white froth.
Aroma: Fairly strong peaty smoke, a little biscuit and fruitiness, iodine and brine, like a so-so ale with a shot of big Islay Scotch in it.
Palate: Medium body, fairly aggressive effervescence.
Flav.: Lots of peat smoke with insufficient malt support, biscuits, lightly fruity; dry with minimal bitterness and a strong peat smoke finish.
Way too much peat, Pete!

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Served in a snifter from a 500ml bottle. Pours clear golden colour with not much of a head. Aroma is malts and bread with faint whisky notes. Taste is very balanced with not much of anything, just some pleasant whisky notes. Very smooth and easy to drink beer. I would regard it more as a sessional ale though despite the ABV.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Poured a golden colour. Huge foamy bubbly head. Mild carbonation. Has a sorta ashtray/burnt like aroma, not very appealing. Weird smokey like flavour, most likely from being aged in whisky cask (right?) Odd mixture and to me doesn’t seem to be blending well. Not my fave St. Peters brew for sure. Still drinkable, but will not be trying again.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle shared at THT, thanks! Clear amber with a medium off white head. Aroma of peat, big woody notes, toffee and nutty aspects. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Light medium bodied with soft carbonation.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours clear reddish orange color with small and creamy white head. Smell is a bit smoked, whisky with some hops in the background.
Medium body with soft carbonation. Texture is watery at first, turning into creamy when left on the tongue a bit. Taste is mostly bitter with some sourness to it. Aroma falls between fruity and boozy, combination of malts, hops and citrus fruits with whisky presence in the background. Finish is dry and bitter, followed by smoked but slightly metallic aftertaste which does spoil this one for me a bit.
Overall, decent beer. Nothing outstanding but interesting for a change.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle - Clear light amber color, small white head with poor retention. Smoky aroma with some roasted malts. Taste is mostly sweet malty with too offensiv smoke character. I think, on a blind tasting i would mistake it as a rauchbier from Bamberg. Light to medium body, soft carbonation, slick texture, smoky finish. Not really good, but it is not so bad if you dont except whiskey flavours and aromas.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Old rating, best before 20 June 12. Nice intense smoky nose. The beer starts with an extreme but great peated aroma, great intense smoked malts on a smooth but a bit sweetish body. Moderate bitterness, the smoke is great, the beer is moderate. Ok but very interesting stuff!

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, present from Clayfiish which I’ve finally got around to opening. Thanks, mate!
Poured into EurHop! glass. Nice white lacing. Carbonation is really lacking. Golden appearance. Huge Ardbeg whiskey and peated malt aroma as well as TCP. A tad hot too.
Taste is citrus, lemons, Ardbeg, some iodine, TCP, some soft biscuity malt, some toffee crisp biscuits, some caramel. Not particularly amazing but interesting for sure!
