A deep ruby red strong ale with an excellent balance of malt sweetness and hop bitterness. A classic example of a ’winter warmer’; high in alcohol and rich in taste.

Skunky/tar aroma. Reddish black with a thin foam. Thin body with very odd tarish/street pavement flavors. Slight alcohol on the finish. Overall, absolutely disgusting, can’t even finish this crap.

Flaska från SB. Mörkt brunröd med tjockt beige skum. Söt doft med karamell, bröd och lite choklad. Lite krämig munkänsla med smaker av kaffe och choklad.

2012 A: Deep deep brown with a hint of red to the colour. Small white/light brown head that disappears right away. Leaves a thin lacing at the edge of the glass. N: chocolate, caramel, hint of coffee, orange peel, small hint of dates, cinnamon, tamarind T: Tobacco, coffee, some dark fruits, plum, juniper berry, O: Quite promising on the nose but disappointing taste to it... Not very properly stored though, been sitting in my refrigerator for 3 years...

SB beställning, flaska. Grått skum. Grov arom och mer förfinad smak. Lite märkligt intryck. Torr lite återhållsam. Bättre än betyget...

Bottled, 500 ml. Deep dark brown/ruby one with a small beige head on it, which diminishes completely. Nose and aroma of chocolate, dried fruits and earth, mouthfeel is slick to syrupy. Relative long, earthy, dried fruity, warming finish. Enjoyable, robust brew.

Smells of chocolate, stout and ale aromas. Pours a dark amber colour. No head. Taste of chocolate and mild spices. Almost a mix between a chocolate stout and ale. Almost no carbonation Overall I was not disappointed. This is exactly what I would like to sip on a cold day leading up to Christmas. Will buy again. MB The Beer Bearon
