A deep ruby red strong ale with an excellent balance of malt sweetness and hop bitterness. A classic example of a ’winter warmer’; high in alcohol and rich in taste.

500 ml bottle. A deep ruby colour in the glass with a creamy but fading one-finger, light tan head on the pour. Dried fruits, lightly dry berries, gently roasted malts and spice on the aroma. Raisin, prune, choccy & roasted malts with a subtle fruity tang in the mid-palate. Medium body, crisp and medium carbonation. A moderately lingering bittersweet finish. Well balanced and structured nicely on the palate.

From 500ml bottle. Almost black with relatively rapidly fading cream head leaving no lacing. Descrete aroma of sweet black bread, syrup, some dark dried fruits and maybe some chocolate in the background. Taste dominated by roasted malts and black bread, almost no bitterness but good British malt character. Light creamy smooth mouthfeel with very low carbonation.

Bottled 500ml. -from Vrutak Zagreb. Reddish/brown coloured, small beige head, malty nose. Slight roasted malt, caramel, dried fruits, notes of chocolate and alcohol with mild bitter finish. Not so complex for a true winter brew but also not bad at all.

Black colored with weakish tan head. Aroma is basically a chocolate cake with nuts and spices. Taste is sweet chocolate, nuts, winter spice mix, with a bitter dry cocoa finish. Medium bodied but hot cocoa thick. Not a St. Peters fan but this one is very nice!
