Bottle, Thanks DSG. Pours dark brown, almost black with a frothy off-white head. Old malt, soapy aroma, then wood. Tastes bitter, a little dry, then slightly sweet. Too carbonated, medium-bodied, alcoholic finish.

Bottle shared at kerenmk’s place. Dark brown a big bubbly beige head. Malty aroma with a bit of fruity esters, a bit perfumy, yeasty spiciness, caramel, a bit of licorice and a bit of alcohol notes. Sweetish malty flavor with caramel, some fruitiness, light toastiness, a faint chocolate note, a bit of licorice and a drier finish, a bit bitter, slightly spicy and slightly alcoholic. Medium-bodied and over-carbonated. OK.

Had it a long time ago but I still remember the taste of it. One of the better dark beers I had in my life. Expensive here in Japan.

Ceramic looking bottle in a Trappist glass. Pours dark brown with a lacy, light tan head. Aroma of spicy yeast, caramel and chocolate from the malts, plus a little hops. Flavor the same, a nice blend of it all. Average texture. A pretty good Belgian beer.

500 ml bottle at Volo. Pours a slightly rubyish dark brown with large light tan head. Aroma is sort of cola-ish with dark fruit. Flavour is fruity (cherry and other slight dark fruits), brown sugar and light chocolate. Fairly lively carbonation. Good.

Mildly sweet malts and yeast in aroma. The flavor is caramel, candy sugar, dark fruit and not much bitterness. Somewhat subdued but pretty good still.

500ml ceramic swingtop bottle. Pours dark mahogany with a thin white quickly dissipating head with minimal lacing. Aroma of malt, caramel, yeast, brown sugar and subtle dark fruits. Not much hops. Taste is very sweet. Unfortunately this beer was not very exciting.
