Papsoe (14613), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 21, 2005 (Ceramics bottle 50 cl) Comes as "St. Sebastiaan Grand Cru" brewed by Sterkens. Orangey golden with a small head - and an almost flat appearance. Very soft mouthfeel. Malty with honey flavours and a soft honey-like sweetness - never cloying though. 090298 MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Jun 4, 2005 Bottle. Citric aroma, hint of oxidization. Cloudy yellow colour. Yeasty flavour, hint of mold, slightly watery. Emil (6075), Copenhagen, Denmark May 29, 2005 Gazy golden colour with a off-white head. Yeasty spicy fruity aroma and a sweet spicy taste. Medium body and a sweet dry finish. sayravai (3720), Helsinki, Finland May 22, 2005 Updated: Jan 3, 2006(Bottled, ceramic, 0.5l, "St.Sebastiaan Grand Cru", refined-rate) Hazy golden color with a pathetic head. Yeasty and fruity, sweet toffee aroma with slight earthy sourness. Yeasty, fruity and spicy, oaky flavor with honey and toffee hints. No alcohol visible. Medium-bodied, refreshing and sticky palate with almost no carbonation. An easily drinkable, refreshing, yeasty and spicy ale. Don’t expect a classic, though. Quite similar to some traditional ales - although the cap on this one didn’t seem very tight, which may play a part in that. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA May 1, 2005 This poured a deep golden body with a tall, creamy white head. It’s got got of funky hop bitterness in the aroma overlaid on a sweet malt base. Kind of watery. The taste is well balanced between a malty fruitiness and a floral & earthy hop bitterness. The finish is mildly bitter. Decent. PeterA (339), Virginia, USA Apr 24, 2005 Sweet sugary aroma. Golden color with white foamy head. The flavor is rich with hints of fruits. The palate is unusually light for a Belgian ale, almost watery. The aftertaste is slightly bitter. Crockett (904), Steelback County, Ontario, Canada Apr 4, 2005 Pours deep gold with a big bubbly faint off white head. Clean spiced bread aroma. Strawberry juice. Somewhat watery. Hops are delicate and hard to detect with all those sweet fruit malts. Very wet finish. Refreshing. I didn’t notice all that alcohol until my next beer. Far more simple than they’d let you believe. KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Mar 31, 2005 Updated: Dec 20, 2008Pours golden yellow with a thick head. Hints of yeast and hops are in the nose, and the taste is very similar but with a slight hint of spice in the finish. Good stuff, but not great. Too bready and fluffy tasting.
