Bottle. Caffe Volo. Golden body, very small white head diminishes quickly. Alcoholic sweet malty aroma. Flavour is inappropriately over-run by the alcohol, with barely a glimpse of the underlying malt. Average palate. Disappointing.

Orange-golden colour with virtually no head. Aroma is typically Belgian - yeasty and a little spicey - but not very unique or exciting. Body is somewhat flat. Flavour is sweet (honey, caramel) and a little peppery. Quite disappointing - I have a feeling it may have suffered from transport and/or storage issues.

golden colour with a frothy head... tastes of pur honeycomb with a slight pinch of citrus... quite surprpisingly on the light side tastewise for a belgian. But ever so smooth!

This is known as St. Sebastiaan Grand Cru in its country of origin. Pale, drab amber colour; virtually no head, just some transparant bubbles. Quite alcoholic nose, and definitely some oxidation. Dull, lifeless sweetish taste, cookies, old sherry, oxydized. Thin body, flat as a pancake. A beer that hasn’t stood up to - what? Bad storage, transport, age ...? BBD is indecipherable. Will have to try again.

Semi-cloudy pour with some chunks. Malty aroma for a Belgian. Slightly sour butterscotch flavor. Decent head/lacing, but not too impressive. Definitely above average for a beer, yet middling to lower average for Belgian.

Pours a two-finger white head that goes slowly leaving a good lace. Clear golden color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Slight malty nose. Starts mellow with some sweetness, finish is more malt than hop with no aftertaste. Keeps well, bought 8/2004. Expensive - $7.99 for a 16oz flip-top bottle from Hoosick Street Discount Bev. Troy, NY.

Hazy golden colour with big foamy white head. Fresh malty aroma with hints of pear. Malty and fruity flavor, acidic finish. Palate is rather thin.
