2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Medium clear gold orange with tiny, just visible sediment flecks under a mountainous, white, variable bubble short lasting head. Very faint bitter hops and malt, fresh fruit and alcohol aroma. Medium to light body, lowly carbonated, bitter and malt flavours. Tastes more like a heavish pils that a strong Belgian. Quite ordinary really .

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Amber-golden color. Large weak head. Aroma is malty with cookie notes and slightly alcoholic. Flavor is sweet, malty too, ending in a more balnced finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2007 Bottle (BB Jun/2011). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy dark yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (herbs, flowers), lightly to moderately yeasty (cobwebs, basement), with light notes of lemon peel and honey. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter, yeasty. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic, slightly metallic. A bit too yeasty (and not exactly a very attractive strain) to let the bright hoppy and fruity characters sing. Not the cleanest aftertaste. There is promise in this recipe, though.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A golden amber color, clear, creamy white head and lots of lace to coat the glass. Nose is sweet, buttery, malt, and quite pleasant. Front is sweet, the top is light, the finish is nicely hopped, dry, acidic, and the 7.6 abv is quite evident as there is a bitter bite.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2003 I liked this beer a lot, though not so much the price. Reminded me of apples. Quite enjoyable!

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A beer that reminds very strongly of deKonink. It has the same mediocre aroma, but also the same great taste. A really great beer.

I agree with Trappist... Why put a rubber stopper on a brew anyway? Am I not going to drink this in a single sitting? The beer smells slightly citric with pineapple hues and has old, dusty and paper hints on a slightly sour body. These are a blending of yeast and hop origin. Some yeasty sour notes follow. This is growing on me... If it didn’t cost so much, I might have another.
