Bottle, 50cl ceramic. As St. Sebastiaan Grand Cru. Microfloaties in this one, else it’s clear. The color is golden and it’s topped by a dense, off-white head. It’s sweet, sugary and fruity on the nose, as expected, with some faint spices and some apricot. The flavor is sweet and fruity with some warming alcohol. Some bitterness, but not enough. Full-bodied and slightly over carbonated. Fruity, sweet finish. Overall, too sweet but decent. 101126
2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 9/20 argo0 (10388) - Washington DC, USA - FEB 6, 2006
(16oz ceramic bottle) Completely flat from the bottle, once again the seal of bottle cap to ceramic was inadequate from St. Sebastiaan. Particulate-hazy amber body. Aroma is very sweet, honey, flowery, peach. Taste is moderately sweet, maple, some herb, cookie dough, flowery, alcohol, light cantalope, grape. Watery, flat, medium-full body. I would be willing to re-rate with an intact bottle, but this rating will be factored in -- a bottling defect like this is on the head of the brewer.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 TBone (9999) - Pori, FINLAND - MAY 13, 2008
Bottled as "Grand Cru" (BB 10/2010)
Slightly hazy yellow color, small white head. Grassy and fruity (pear, mango) nose. Dry mouthfeel. A bit fruity (mango, peach), some grassy hops. Simple. But bottle is pretty.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 thewolf (9882) - Kolding, DENMARK - MAR 15, 2008
Bottle, bought @ Poetzh, Flensborg.
Pours clear, pale golden. Lot of small bubbles surching towards a big, frothy white head. Good duration. Aroma is sweet, yeasty, coriander, oranges, biscuits and apples. Quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is a little underwhelming, but still nice. Quite sweet, with biscuity malts dominating between some exotic fruits - pineappel, apples and oranges. A slightly dry finish.
