2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
I bought this beer because of the bottle. Beer pours (in Chimay glass) an orange golden with small head, maybe 3/8's inch. Better looking than some other blondes. Aroma is of corn and straw. Flavor has a bit of honey, but more pine, and then some more straw - nothing very strong, not too much to taste here, but a decent brew. Nothing special. Very drinkable, no hint of alcohol. Sampled at 71 degrees Fahrenheit.

Golden colored with a fluffy white head. The taste is slightly malty with notes of spices and fruits. Finishes kind of fast.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Hazy orange body with a thinnish off-white head. Aroma of curacao, coriander seed, wheat and apricots. Light-bodied; Sharp astringent taste up front with some fruity sweetness. Aftertaste shows bitterness and not much else. Overall, not strong and not pleasing. I bought this 75 cL bottle at Beers of the World in Rochester, New York and sampled it on 11-April-2004.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bonze with some sticky head. The aroma is sweet with some malt & grainyness. Flavor is sickeningly sweet with metallic hops and some toasty grungy finish.

Pours amber with a rocky head and nice lacing. Honey aromas followed by brown sugar, citrus, hops and some yeast. Mettalic flavor, yeast, citrus, stale honey, and hops. Thin body with a metallic aftertaste.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Caffe Volo. Golden body, very small white head diminishes quickly. Alcoholic sweet malty aroma. Flavour is inappropriately over-run by the alcohol, with barely a glimpse of the underlying malt. Average palate. Disappointing.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
NIce package; the ceramic bollte and swing top were classic. palate: fruity and hoppy with a splash of alcohol flavor on the backend. Over all a good drinking beer, with some class.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Ashen slightly honeyish aroma.
Golden, low on visible carbonation, lacing creamy head.
A bit of fruit - orangepeel (including the bitter parts), hay, peppery, slight alcohol burn.
Unfortunately also a slight gunpowder and veggie note.
Medium body, oily mouthfeel.
Not overly impressive.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
This is known as St. Sebastiaan Grand Cru in its country of origin. Pale, drab amber colour; virtually no head, just some transparant bubbles. Quite alcoholic nose, and definitely some oxidation. Dull, lifeless sweetish taste, cookies, old sherry, oxydized. Thin body, flat as a pancake. A beer that hasn’t stood up to - what? Bad storage, transport, age ...? BBD is indecipherable. Will have to try again.
