Bottle (750ml) as "St. Sebastiaan Grand Cru". Clear yellow golden with a nice white head. Aroma - yeasty and fruity with some light peaches and apricots notes . Sweet, with overripe fruits, some spices and yeast, quite mellow. Medium-bodied with oily texture. Drinkable.

Like the dark, this beer doesn’t age. It is flat, but the flavor and aroma is ok. Once again I wonder why a Belgian brewer is following the German purity law. Some fruit in the aroma and flavor. Belgian yeast flavor as well, and I bet this had decent palate at one time. Hazy gold but no visible sediment.

This golden ale poured with a nice white head that, unfortunately, didn’t last long. The flavor, though a bit thin, was fruity and tasty, with a spicy/peppery finish. A decent brew, but nothing special.

I picked this one up at the Central Market. It comes in a neat resealable bottle in 16 oz size. I think I must be hallucinating, because I’m pretty sure I bought beer, but this looks, smells, and tastes like apple juice. If you are able to get past that, it’s too bad of a brew, but for me, it was a little too difficult to get past. Give it a shot if you like apple juice.

Pours a light cloudy golden amber color with yeast visible in the pour. Had a nice white head that disipated quickly. Has notes of carmel and honey but they are overpowered by the bitterness. Overall not a bad beer, but not memerable except for the bottle.

You know, not one I really liked. I guess it is what it was supposed to be, but if you like this style, you’ll like this one. It was light in color, nice head. Came in a ceramic jug. It was sweet I thought, like Deus and Hennepin.

Bottle 33cl. @ [ Thisted tasting ]. [ As St. Sebastiaan Grand Cru ].
Clear medium yellow orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, flowers, perfume. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090316]

Everything to be expected from the type of ale, but not enough complexity to merit special mention. Yeasty with a little orange peel hint, but the sweetness is the dominant reaction. Not quite as bad as a Kronenbourg Blanc, but should have been better.

Bottle. Pours a slighlty hazy golden color with small off-white head. Has a fruity yeasty spicy aroma. Sweetish maly spicy yeasty caramel flavor. Has a sweetish malty spicy yeasty finish.
