| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 24, 2008 Bottled. Poured vibrant fiery golden with a thick initial cap of white head and plenty of rising carbonation. The aroma opened with lemon and grassy notes followed by syrupy light fruit and honey sweetness.. sweet and gripping, but perhaps overly aggressive with the chosen malts to bring you in.. overtones of spicy clove and banana-ey notes. The flavor was sweet and strong with pale malts and banana surrounded by dusty banana and spicy esters.. almost a malt likka feel on the palate with honey and almost corny notes. Medium-bodied with creamy, higher carbonation on the palate.. nice lemony tartness on the front end, but a bit rough with the alcohol heat and only OK maltage on the back.. very warm finish. I wanted this to be better. maniac (2774), Richmond, Virginia, USA
