4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
A nice light fruit aroma. This is tasty. Has a tripel mouthfeel to it but seems a bit on the lighter side. Very tingly and bubbly. Good stuff.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly lasting.
Body is dark yellow.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), lightly yeasty (basement), with strong notes of banana and gum.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
A simple, overly-sweet, ester-heavy example. Does Steenberge *really* need to make another one of these???

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
33cl Bottle: best before 21 Feb 2014, poured into the correct glass (a goblet/chalice) at ‘The Last Drop Inn’, Bolton on 8 Sep 2012 by myself: I didn’t trust the staff! Posh label gives a cellar date of 5/12, so this wasn’t very old when I had it.
This was on the bars ‘Boutique Beer List’ and although a bit expensive, it caught my eye.
Deep golden to light amber body, sediment remained in the bottle, nice head even with the steady pour I gave it.
Malts, yeast and mixed fruit in the nose: this carried on into the taste, semi-sweet malty molasses being the prominent flavour. As the beer warmed a little it became a bit metallic in its mouth feel and although I enjoyed the first three quarters of the beer I struggled with the last few sips.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
750 ml. corked and caged bottle. Cellar release 4-2012. Pours a medium well retained white head, with some lacing, over a slightly hazy, dark yellow (SRM 4) body....nose is light fruits (pear, apple, lemon, banana) light allspice, hint of clove....taste is sweet fruits including pear, white grape, banana, leading to light melon hints, clove, light allspice, finishing slightly sweet.....mouth feel light of medium, carbonation high. While it meets the style of a Belgian Blonde, it is rather sweet. As a result it is cloying, not refreshing, and a little more mono-dimensional than expected. BJCP 7/3/12/4/6

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Clear medium amber-orange with a thick frothy creamy lasting off-white head. Smells of light toasted malt, grain banana apple fruity elements with some spice and flowery notes. Medium thin body with soft dry carbonation. Tastes of sweet malt with a fruity centre of fruity and grain that would be great if this was aged and a bitter alcohol, yeast, spicy finish. Would love to age it for a while. Worth a try again.

ChrisOs Crimbo Tasting. Thanks to Chris for sorting out the ID on this one! Clear gold beer, big off white head. Light semi dry palate. Very sweet pale malt - sugary! Light citrus and a semi dry finish. Too sweet by far - and I like a sweet beer!

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
4-2012 bottle. clear gold, sparkling and effervescent body with a large-bubbled tan head. banana esters, candy sugar, grain husks and brash alcohol in the nose with milder notes of spoiled apple mah and solvent. medium body; mild bitterness; mostly sweet. sticky, candy-like banana and gum with red apple and coarse grains front to back. watery finish with loose carbonation froth. seems a pretty pedestrian attempt at a lighter Belgian golden / strong ale. grows more mousy / hairy as it opens and warms. eww.

Made for SAB Miller. This stuff was not that great tbh. Fruity, not too much body. I thought it would be at least decent considering the brewery. I will say this the packaging is pretty cool.
