See www.st-stefanus.be

Bottle from 2012. Appearance is cloudy yellow with a thick white head. Aroma is mildly fruity with a with a hint of banana and spice. Flavor is slight spice with a slight funkiness from the yeast. Wife: 4.2

Doughy, sugary, and apple core infused aromas. Blond hazy looks, moderate carbonation, 2012 bottling seems intact. Hollow sweetness, honey maybe, not really tart or sour although it’s getting there. Mellow body, really dries out towards the finish. Nice mid weight blonde.

August 2012 release bottle. The head when poured is insanely huge and creamy. Typically Belgian flavour but smoother than other abbey beers. Packs a punch at 7% but is oh so worth it!

330ml bottle, pours golden brown with a small bubbly white head Caramel malt with coriander spice and with a good balance. Bottle advises this is brewed with 3 different yeasts but I can’t detect much unusual yeast flavour. A decent belgian blonde beer, well crafted and of good quality.

Released August 2012. Mallty-clove-apple nose. Slightly sweet, light bitterness, a pleasant touch of sourness. Overall, a pleasant Belgian blonde. Perhaps beginning to decline at 18 months’ aging.

Rather elegant corked and wired brown bottle with frosted branding on the glass (75cl). Pour is hazy golden with a small white head and soapy lace. Aroma is straightforward honey sweet malts with bready yeasts and a slight citrussy presence. Taste is similar with a lightly herbal bitter finish. Palate is medium bodied and oily with spritely mouthfeel. Acceptable, like a more refined and less sweet Leffe Blonde.

Pours amber with a large fading head. Nose shows doughy Belgian yeast, soft spicy phenols, caramel and candi notes. More doughy notes as flavours along with caramel and more candi sugar characters. A little cloying. Carbonation seems a tad excessive.

Hazy blond appearance. Aroma is very sweet, fructose, strawberries, etc. Flavour is like a fruity jam but also yeasty. Very lively carbonation.

330ml Flasche. Leicht trübes gold-oranges Bier mit starker Schäumung. Geruch schön hefig fruchtig, leicht würzig. Geschmack fruchtig nach Aprikose, hefig, stark karbonisierend, fruchtiger Abgang.
