See www.st-stefanus.be

Bottle. Fruity pear aroma. Tall frothy, lasting head. Flavor is sweet with hints of fruit, yeast and candied malts. Very light, sweet finish. Alcohol content is well hidden in this Blonde Ale.

20/VII/13 - 33cl bottle from the Augustiner abbey (Gent) @ home - BB: 20/VI/13, release date: X/2011 (2013-655) Thanks to Yuang for the bottle(s)!

Clear orange beer, big creamy yellowish head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: grains, bit metallic, grassy hops, sweet, sugary, banana, candy. MF: lots of carbon, medium body, creamy texture. Taste: ltos of banana, citrus, grassy hops, bit metallic, bit sweet, fruity, sugary, spices. Aftertaste: nice bitterness, (over)ripe banana, almonds, bit sugary. Was very surprised at how good this beer actually was. Probably the ageing has something to do with it.

A german pils smell with a bit of sweet maybe banana smell. Almost a banana bread kinda smell. The beer is a cloudy blonde color with a white head. A nice chewy bisciuty yeasty slightly bitter slightly sweet beer. Its a medium heavy body with a bit of banana nut flavor. Heavy in carbonation like it should be.

Bottled 8/2012. Opened 8/2013 Poured a finger of foamy head on a almost clear, medium straw colored body. Looks great. The aroma is mild overall. Slight dry grain and fruit smell. The taste has a mild bitterness and a touch of apple with some fizzy texture. No real depth. The carbonation is moderate with a crisp body. A bit of a disappointment. A nice fizzy drink but no real flavor to aroma.

Dated 4/12, so it’s been aged. Pours a crystal clear gold. Carbonation is evident, maybe a little too high for blondes. Then again, maybe I shouldn’t "cellar" my beers at 80 degrees. Mild, sweet aroma of tree fruit (pears? apples?) with a watermelon-y bubblegum. No hop aroma at all, just pure belgian yeast. Mouthfeel is light, silk. Not as dry as I’d expect given the carbonation. Taste is very typical belgian. Starts with a banana bread sweetness, switches to kind of a tart apple and finishes with peppery spice. Mine may have been a bit more "interesting" since it’d been in the high 70’s for about 3 months, but overall really loved this beer. Probably going to grab a bunch from my shop and store em at different temps, see what happens.

New Beer Distributors, NY 11.2oz ($4.50): Pours orange with a white head. Aroma is bubblegum, citrus, and yeast. Taste is sweet. Almost no bitterness. Tastes like European candy. Some sugary aftertaste. It is ok, but seems like a big too sugary for me.

Solidly good, with all the usual spice, balance, etc of a Belgian ale, but TBH it’s a bit overly yeasty and even a tad overly carbonated--neither element is appropriately smoothed out--compared to the competition; not legendary, then, and certainly not worth the outrageous price

7-2012 - There are many things to like about this beer. The aroma is pronounced, complex and appealing. The flavor is equally compelling, but the bottle was marred by a steely character more or less sufficient to ruin the beer.

After a horrendous drive upstate to my inlaws lake house I desperately needed a beer I opened the fridge was pleased to find they had bought a ; pack of this for me. Pours orange and gold with thin soapy head. Nose of light juicy fruit gum and yeast. Tastes of bready yeasty Belgian beer, quite peppery, with apricots and pears. Nice carbonation and medium bodied. Delightful and well deserved after the hours of traffic it took to get here

At Cheeky Monk Denver. Hazy dark gold with a medium foamy head. Lovely dusty Belgian aroma with pear, bubblegum, apricot, and boozy doughy yeast. Flavor has some tasty blonde grains, a yeasty estery fruitiness, some light pear notes, and earthy blonde cereal games. Solid and complex for a Belgian blonde.
