The 3MONTS beer : A wonderful return to nature, with its flavour of yesteryear, this is a beer that was drawn from the wooden metal-circled barrels to fill so many mugs in our Flanders bars! Its bitterness comes from our hop fields scattered throughout the region. Brewed by infusions, it is an old-fashioned rising beer made with strong and hearty Flemish hops. Fermented using top yeasts, like the barrel brewers of yore and clamped like bonderised barrels.

Rien d’extra sans être foncièrement mauvaise. A retester. Trouvable facilement en grandes surfaces en France.

50 cl i Portiragnes. Hade grymma förväntningar på denna öl men den smakade mest alkoholstark lager

Bottle 750ml. Those have always a great presentation :) Pours with light amber, yellowish colour. White, not big but persistent, small bubbled head. Nose: descendants of saaz type hops, bready, pilsener malt scent. Mouthfeel: average carbonation. Taste: bready, malty, medium sweet, really slightly acidic. Obvious presence of high level of alcohol, but mildly covered by sweetnes and bitternes in aftertaste. Beware! It’s not a session beer, almost 9% abv!! :) Good for fiestas, goes excellently with proper meat portions :) Really good example of regional bière de flamande/garde. Brasserie de Saint Sylvestre, merci beaucoup!!

Bottle from Monoprix, Nice. Pale golden with a light lager style - it certainly doesn’t feel its strength. Has a fair carbonation and a frothy head. It’s certainly a notch above lager with a slight smoothness and a nice malt-hop taste, but it’s not that far removed.

Bottle from a French supermarket. Pours golden with a frothy white head. Nice, bitter and refreshing. Spicy hop notes over quite a syrupy base. A bit of aniseed in the finish. One of the better mainstream biere de gardes

Cool bomber... Good label. Weird clasp on the cork that I haven’t seen before. Murky brownish brew, with tinges of green. Vanilla notes over malt and yeast give it a cakey aroma. Pleasantly effervescent and bitter, not very esteric, dry toffee. Medium body. Finishes out with a vanilla ladyfinger effect. Beer Stop, Tallahassee.

Bottle 0.75l. Pours hazy light yellow with minimal head. Aroma is malty, grassy, citrus, slightly spicy. Taste is light bitter, light to medium sweet, yeasty, some citrus, spicy, bit floral. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and sweet, lively carbonation, bit watery, alcohol is well hidden. Ok.
