The 3MONTS beer : A wonderful return to nature, with its flavour of yesteryear, this is a beer that was drawn from the wooden metal-circled barrels to fill so many mugs in our Flanders bars! Its bitterness comes from our hop fields scattered throughout the region. Brewed by infusions, it is an old-fashioned rising beer made with strong and hearty Flemish hops. Fermented using top yeasts, like the barrel brewers of yore and clamped like bonderised barrels.

330ml bottle at Beer Station, Xiamen. Pours clear yellow with a white head. Aroma of Belgian style yeast, hay and bread. Hint of alcohol. Bittersweet finish. Drunk while eating a spicy burger so notes maybe not accurate!

Pours clear pale straw with three fingers of fluffy white head, excellent retention and moderate patchy lacing. (4/5) Nose is sweet pale malt, green apple, doughy yeast, grassy hops, slightly dusty. (7/10) Taste is moderate sweet, moderate bitter, slight tart and funk. (7/10) Medium bodied, slightly oily, moderate carbonation, dry vinous bitter and boozy finish. (4/5) Not as sweet as some other Bières de Garde, with a dry vinous character. There’s also a little funk and tart to keep things interesting, and the hops are relatively pronounced - lots of Belgian character from both the yeast and the hops, actually. A French style made with Belgian (Flanders) hops, and it shows characteristics of both lineages. The ABV is definitely present, but largely in the finish, and is actually fairly subdued for the weight. I prefer this type of interpretation of the style over the sweeter, maltier ones. (15/20)

Alpha10 (431) - Ontario, CANADA - APR 20, 2015
2015/04/20 - Pours a clear, pale gold colour with a thick, rocky, white head that lingers. Aroma is sweet; pale malts, cereal, mild apple, green grape, dough and grassy hops. Taste is cereal, mild apple and grape, wood, pale malts, white wine notes and grassy hops. A touch metallic. Mouthfeel is light with effervescent carbonation and a vinous finish that is drying and mildly bitter. Drinkable, but nothing remarkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2011 vintage, listed at 8.3% ABV. Pours a remarkably clear if somewhat oily looking amber/copper with a dense, fluffy and rocky off-white head that hangs out a while, settling to a thick film and leaving some walls of foamy, coating lace. Nose involves some sweet, sugary doughy confections, almost some maple notes, subdued grassy and spicy hops, some peach and white grape, some honey. Pretty sweet, somewhat bitter. Medium toward full bodied, oily, soft, dusty, finishing toasty and toward dry with bitterness. Elegant, nuanced, and it held up pretty well. Cool.

750ml corked bottle served in a chalice glass. A: Pours a clear golden yellow color forming a medium, creamy and white bubbled head. Infinite retention and lots of big molasses and lingering lacings left in the glass. S: Very malty and crispy in the nose. Notes of pale malts, honey and flowery hops. Light fruity notes. Metallic notes. T: Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of pale malts and bread. Fruity notes. Light hops bitterness. Grassy hops profile. M: Heavy molasses body. Medium carbonation. Malty aftertaste. Not much persistent taste. O: Good drinkability. Quite dry and crispy "bière de garde".

Schönes goldgelb im Glas. Feinperliger weiße Schaumkrone, extrem stabil. Malz sowohl im Aroma als auch im Geschmack. Süßlich, leicht alkoholisch. Leider nicht besonders gut.
